Really? Kidnapping? Why, just WHY did EVERYTHING happen when she was ASLEEP?! It was downright rude, annoying and totally unnecessary! Why? It meant that she woke up and ended up being assaulted with information when she was still half asleep. Information is hard to process when you're still not fully in tune with the world around you you know. She didn't of course say anything, though an annoyed scowl flitted onto her features. If anyone asked her reason would be she was cross someone had the nerve to kidnap a rider. Which was true, but she was more irritated that they'd kidnapped them during the daytime at this point in time. And it was totally against convention! Kidnappings happened at night! Taja decided to ignore the thought that she too didn't like conforming, because otherwise she was hypocrite.
At least when Arktos stood to speak she paid attention. He was a fellow wherhandler so she trusted what he'd say (Not that she mistrusted the Weyrwoman. It was just... camaraderie?) and hoped he'd keep it brief. He did, and Taja felt herself grinning rather with the prospect of some action. Though what did concern her was that they were rescuing G'rett after the Flight. Fair enough if the Flight had started by the time they got there, but, well, Taja didn't approve of letting whoever these rogues were get what they'd originally intended. So yeah, she did have a question. "Count me n Task in either way Arktos, but surely getting G'rett and Coth outta there before the flight would be a wiser move? I don't like the thought of them getting what they originally planned. That's if we can of course," she added hastily, realising that that had probably been though of and not really wanting to seem disrespectful. She was tempted to ask what was planned for these other riders as well, though figured now probably wasn't the time. She could always find Arktos at another point and ask, or get Task to contact Arkysk for her.
What?! Someone had been kidnapped?! And bronzerider G'rett and Coth none the less! Oh this was awful! Sorbeth! Why didn't you tell me, I'm sure you knew! she accused the green, and was met with a mental snort. Because Mia, you and I both know that if I had told you, you would have been panicking all day. I don't want to have t put up with that. Besides, I didn't know it was kidnap, I just knew Coth and His had gone missing. Sorbeth sounded slightly huffy at the last part, and that made Mia let up a little. she couldn't be irritated at Sorbeth, when she herself would've done the same had she been Sorbeth. Of course, this was horrific and awful and...! Warning thought from Sorbeth. Calm. Collected. Someone was coming over, that was an excellent thing to pay attention to and thus keep her mind off the situation, and her indecision as to whether or not she should go, seeing as that Wherhandler beside her had somehow shifted a few paces away and didn't seem the type to talk to, if her expression was anything to go by.
Mia blushed back at C'pher, smiling under the compliment before looking up at the broad, tall rider. "Thank you," she murmured, idly pushing a strand of hair back off her face. Of course though at his question of if she were gong she faltered a little. This was ever so different! She wanted to help, she honestly did but she wasn't sure she could trust herself to not panic. "I..." she began, before Sorbeth cut her off. Am most certainly going, and Zeddicuth's is more than welcome to come along with us. Between the pair of us we ought to chilled and if we don't I'm getting him to force fellis down your neck. You still have that spare bottle of Lavender oil as well don't you? Drown yourself in that. Mia grinned at Sorbeth's blunt attitude. "Sorbeth says of course," she told the bluerider.

Kia pursed her lips, not at all happy that C'olt was going to accompany the riders on this trip. She knew his Healer expertise might be needed, but if anything happened to him, she would be devastated. She had already lost one lover, and it couldn't happen again. Her child couldn't grow up without a father. Perhaps worse yet, her child might end up with a dragonless man as a father. She shook her head. She was probably thinking about worse case scenarios. Dragonriders were civil people. Maybe it could all be worked out through negotiation.
"I wish I could go, too," she told C'olt, managing to keep her voice level. She clenched her fists a little. "Just so you know, if you die...I'll kill you." She smiled a little, but it didn't reach her eyes. Sighing, she let him go talk to Arktos. It was hard to just stand here and watch the other riders go, while she stayed back, useless.
***
This was worse than M'lym could ever have imagined. These riders were acting in disgrace. He knew that he would go, and use what combat experience he had from the summer games. He nodded at Meera, then took her hand. "I can think of no better green to ride, Meera," he told her. He decided that after this was over, he would tell Meera exactly how he felt, but now wasn't the time.
***
Rendel's expression was pure disgust when he listened to Arktos's description of the rebel rider's plans. "I've heard of these rebel riders. A few cotholds have been raided by mysterious riders." He crossed his arms, shaking his head ruefully. "If I was a younger man, I would go with you. As it is, I'll try and find what I can about the rebels. I'm sure some of my inform...er, apprentices have heard something," he told the Weyrwoman.

Q'del replied to Tess, standing and nodding. "It is possible that it is a trap, but I doubt it. From what both Shadow and Arkysk have reported, most of the riders, if not all of them, were completely unaware that there was a weyr on this continent, although I can't figure out why, since if they'd been raiding the holds, you'd think they'd have heard. But in any case, I agree that it is risky, but it is the best chance we have. We just have to make sure we have superior numbers in case the riders do come back. Luckily, by all report there can't be more than twenty-five of them, as as Arktos said, they were mostly very young. I'll definitely be going." If only to assuage his guilt over his part in the affair, and to make his sister feel better. "Oh, and it was fellis they were giving him. We don't know the dose, but they've stopped now so that he'll be coherent enough to participate in the Flight. As for where they've come from, we have no idea. The Masterharper has come and we hope he might have more information for us."
Arktos frowned when Kiyoni said she'd be going. He'd much rather she be safe back at the weyr, but he could hardly stop her. Though if he'd known then that she was pregnant he certainly would have. He nodded to Taja. "The problem is this, if we go before the Flight, the other riders would be there before we have a chance to make sure G'rett is safe. They could kill him to stop us from saving him..or worse. Once the Flight is in progress they won't dare return until it is over. What if their dragons joined? They'd be incapacitated and also perhaps fail in their objective. I don't really want to see them succeed either, but if we capture the rider of the female, then it will be our gain, not theirs."
Tesni interjected suddenly. "But what of G'rett, we can't stop the Flight once its in progress. If we try to stop him from participating, the Flightlust could make him do something crazy, plus he could lose Coth between. But if we leave him with that other rider..she might injure him..or drug him again before we can intervene. Coth won't be able to fly if his rider is drugged, and he won't be able to escape."
Cybele stepped forward then. "This has been discussed..I don't wish to air a private matter too openly here, but it's been decided to bring in a substitute for G'rett once the female's rider is captured. The other rider will also be given someone..one of her own people, because we don't wish to cause the death of her dragon either. From all reports, she is very young and doesn't know any better from what we can tell." All of the Weyr leadership had been informed that Quindara would be going. The weyrling had practically insisted, and really it was the best choice, the least traumatic for G'rett, who'd certainly had his share of trauma. Artemth would be drugged, thus being the test subject for the method that would be used on all the young dragons during the Goldflight. It was harrowing to risk the young Queen that way, but the dragonhealers had assured them it was safe. The weyrling was already feeding and oiling her dragon in preparation. Q'del had not been happy about it, but in the end, it was the best decision.
Arktos nodded to the Weyrwoman. He'd been assigned the de facto leadership of this operation because of his combat training, but he'd take all the help he could get. "Any other questions? Anyone who is going should assemble in the Bowl in one mark. Once I see how many we have, I'll break us up into teams and make a better plan. Bring whatever weapons you have...well except bows, we'd be likely to injure one of our fellows that way. We don't want to kill any of the riders if we don't have to, but rescuing G'rett is our first priority."

Kiyoni just glared at Arktos. She wasn't going to stand by and do nothing. She knew he wasn't happy with her, but he could voice that objection later. Of course at that point in time she had no idea that she really should have stayed behind. The search rider stayed behind to be with her mate though.
Meera smiled at M'lym. "Good," she smiled. "Then when we meet in the Bowl Vanlith will be ready," she assured him. She was glad that he had accepted. She didn't want to think about him being in danger, but at least he would be with her.
Randy sighed softly. She had no doubt that V'zee would want to join too, so she'd have to leave little Ranvik in the creche. She wasn't sure how much help Ransk would be, but they had to try.
G'fal frowned slightly. He was going to keep a close eye on Artmeth while Quindara was gone. He didn't want to think about the possibility of losing the little queen or Quindara for that matter.
Tanly gripped B'ren's hand. She hoped that everyone made it back safely. She felt bad for this female rider. For all the green rider knew the young female rider really didn't have any part in what was about to happen. She could have just been a puppet in the whole thing. But either way they had to get G'rett back.
T'tarel nodded. One candlemark. He would find a ride once they all assembled. He had no doubt that there would be other riders willing to give rides once he got there. Although talking Reloith into staying behind would be the real trick.

Toniel listened carefully to the Weyrwoman's words, giving a short nod at the appropriate times. She then directed her attention to Arktos as he explained the situation. Her eyes grew wide. They wanted to use him for breeding? As little more than a stud? That was disgraceful for such high-thinking beings as dragons! It was like using human beings as studs and broodmares! She did not have any combat experience beyond that which was given as a part of weyrling training. And even then, it was hardly smart to risk a queenrider when they had a Weyr full of other riders to go.
When someone voice their concerns over it being a trap, she couldn't help but agree. It sounded suspicious, though she couldn't be sure. Q'del spoke up next and she looked up at him as he stood, still stroking her little red. The firelizard clawed her way down Toniel's shirt and curled up on her lap. She felt a flutter in her chest when he said he was going, but didn't let her concern show any more on her face than the rest of it did. She wasn't sure how to respond, knowing he would be needed but also selfishly wanting him to stay.
Toniel listened a bit distractedly to the remainder of the conversation, looking over sharply at Cybele when she mentioned bringing in a substitute for the two riders. She could only assume that meant Quindara was going, a decision she most certainly did not agree with. If everyone insisted that Artemth would be a queen in her own reckoning, it was foolish to risk her like this. But even she couldn't argue with the Weyrwoman.

B'ren nodded and squeezed Tanly's hand. "I'd be honored." When the matter was settled, B'ren led Tanly back to their weyr and grabbed his riding gear, then slipped a throwing knife into each boot before sheathing the twin long knives he typically carried. Chi looked at him. I heard that I can't come. I'm not happy.[/i] The Brown slapped his tail against the ledge, his eyes tinged with purple. B'ren groaned and walked over so he could soothe his companion. "I know, Chi. But we can't afford to have any other male compete against Coth for that female dragon. Tanly and Cadalayith will make sure I stay out of trouble." Rubbing his muzzle affectionately against B'ren, Chi simply crooned softly, then looked at his mate. I shall look forward to your safe return, Cadalayith. Do be careful.[/i] The Brown nuzzled the smaller Green.
B'ren looked at Tanly. "Grab your gear and let's meet up with the others in the Bowl."
----------------------------
C'olt grinned at Kia, then gently stroked her cheek. "That's my Kia. So worried about me that she'll kill me if I don't come back to her alive." He leaned over and kissed her softly on her lips, but gave her a reassuring nod. "I know that look. You're not completely useless, you know. Lyrensa will probably be just as worried as you'll be. Besides, we don't know how what condition Wingleader G'rett will be in after the Flight. Worse case is, we'll need to bring him immediately to the Infirmary...and Lyrensa could use all the support she can get to stay calm." He then looked at T'tarel. "If you can't find a ride, I'm sure Aromath wouldn't mind an extra passenger." Turning back to Kia, he squeezed her hand. "I'll come back to you and Lyrensa." He had to reluctantly let it go, then headed out when the order was given to assemble in the Bowl within one candlemark. Luckily for him, C'olt knew how to apply his knowledge of medicine to kill a man under the right circumstances, but he still brought his quarterstaff with him. That was his preferred weapon of choice. Hoisting his medical supply bag over his shoulder, he whistled to Aromath. "Heads up, darling. We need to meet with the others down in the Bowl."
The Green crowed her acknowledgement as her Rider mounted up, then took off in a descending pattern towards the Bowl as soon as C'olt adjusted the straps and gave the signal.
-------------------------------
C'pher nodded at Mia. "Zed won't be happy, but I'm sure he'll understand. I'll meet you down at the bowl." Nodding to the Leadership, he returned to his weyr...and the Searchdragon merely blinked at him. I know I cannot come, but I trust Sorbeth's and hers enough to take you with them. Do be careful, Mine. And bring back Coth and his safely.[/i] C'pher gave his Blue an affectionate rub of his eyeridges. "I'll be careful, Zed. I promise. And we will." The Searchrider then suited up in his riding gear, and strapped his shortsword at his side. He was sure he would need it. He then made his way to the Bowl to meet with Mia.

Tanly smiled and stayed close to B'ren. She just hoped that they all made it back safely. G'rett included. She feared for the bronze rider and she hoped their plan worked. It would be awful to lose a dragon and rider. Especially a bronze. The green rider got back to their weyr and gathered up her things.
Cadalayith gently nuzzled Chiath. I'll bring them back, she promised. I won't let them get hurt. The green was protective of her rider and now B'ren as well.
"I've got it all," she said, hurrying back over to her mate.
~~~~
T'tarel looked over at C'olt. "Thank you, C'olt," the bronze rider said with a nod. "I appreciate it. I shall meet you back in the Weyr Bowl then," he said appreciatively.
The bronzer then hurried to his weyr to grab a few things. Reloith watched him quietly. Be careful, the bronze said. I do not want to lose you.
I will be, Reloith. I promise. I'm sorry I can't take you with me. I know you understand.
Of course. Now go. Or you'll be late.
~~~~
Kiyoni waited for Arktos. "Do you think we'll be able to pull this off?" she asked, as she twined her fingers through his. She was worried that something bad would happen to him. And she hoped that G'rett would be okay. "I'm sorry if I upset you," she said softly.
~~~~
G'fal hurried back to the barracks. He knew there wasn't much else he could do. He;d just concentrate on the weyrlings.
~~~
Randy reluctantly left Ranvik at the creche before hurrying toward the Bowl. Ransk was right on her heels. The two waited patiently for their next orders.
~~~
Meera waited with Vanlith, looking around for M'lym. Stop worrying, Vanlith said. You will both be alright.
The green rider smiled a little. I'll try, Van. Really I will.
Well, fair enough. It had been worth asking, even if only to stop it going round in her own head for Faranth knows how long. If they could capture the rising female then that would most distinctly make her feel better about this whole thing, simply because she could be smug in the knowledge that these other riders had failed. If they thought they could capture Nova riders and get away with it they had another thing coming. They had Taja and Task coming. The wherhandler was glad that for once, she and her brown could live up to the fearsome tales that were told about wher ferocity. It wasn't something she normally relished in the thought of, but every once in a blue moon it was a good bit of fun. Always amusing to watch ignorant dimglows runs screaming from a wher who was really a big softy at heart.
Now that she had her answer, she was turning to leave and head back to her quarters so she could prep for what was coming when she heard people asking what was going to happen to the bronzerider. She paused for a moment, merely curious. Then made a face to herself when she heard the word substitute. Time for her to be leaving! Leave the dragon riders to their own problems, she was a wherhandler. She was going in, helping bust him out, and then going back. Hopefully to bed. and she did not plan on sticking around if they were about to ask for a volunteer. Just no. With a shake of her head she strode out, squinting in the bright daylight - still not used to it. She and Task would be ready in plenty of time.
Mia nodded as well and watched as C'pher left, mind wandering ever so slightly. Pern to Mia. Pern to Mia. Mia, you are meant to be getting me ready. Miiia. Stop getting distracted Mine, and get a shift on! Sorbeth ordered, having taken one look at Mia's current thought train and snorted loudly to herself. Typical of Hers. Of course, the green's barked voice pretty soon cut it off, and Mia nodded again to the Leadership, let them know that she to was coming and then scurried off to go and get ready.
Sorbeth was stood waiting for her, the riding straps piled at her feet and Mia's riding gear shoved in another pile close by. Evidently Sorbeth had gotten bored of waiting and had thought she'd make a head start on getting everything together. Now that the luminous dragon had it in her head that they were to rescue Coth and His, there was no way that she was being told otherwise. Nor was anything about to slow her down or get in her way. She'd switched to one track mind mode, and Mia felt it may be an idea if she did something similar.
With the ease of practise she had Sorbeth geared up and her own riding kit on in about half a candlemark. she was running through a mental list to check that they had everything, but more to keep her focused and calm, when Inca blinked out from between, making her presence known with a loud trill. What you've forgotten is to drown yourself in that oil, and that thing is definitely not coming, Sorbeth supplied form where she was perched waiting to leave on the ledge. Mia paused for a moment, then grinned. Bless Sorbeth, she was ever so brusque when she had something to focus on. Prizing the green firelizard from the shoulder she had attached herself to, Mia brought Inca to her eye-level and fixed with a stare. "Inca, you can't come," she told the flit firmly. Inca squawked in protest but a threatening growl from Sorbeth soon shut her up. The green wriggled from her Pet's grasp, then plonked herself on Mia's pillow in a manner that was definitely huffy.
A quick tickle was spared for Inca before Mia dabbed some of the lavender oil around her collar and slipped the rest of the vial into a pocket. Then she vaulted onto Sorbeth, strapped herself on and was only just settled when the green practically threw her out of proportion body off the ledge and into the air. She glided a short distance until she spotted C'pher, where she angled herself down and landed close to him in her ungainly fashion. Sorbeth could never be called graceful. "You ready to go then?" Mia called down, nerves tightening her voice a little as Sorbeth offered a foreleg politely.
It didn't take Taja and Task long to be ready, Taja dressed in warm, black clothing and with a pair of nastily sharp daggers on her belt. They stood beside each other in their quarters, waiting for when they would be needed. Arkysk? Task and Task's ready. Staying in dark. Call when ready, the brown informed the black when Taja asked. The handler checked she had the blindfold she'd specially crafted her wher at her belt as well, in case she needed to protect his eyes from the light, then settled down to wait for their summons.
Arktos walked over to his weyrmate and laid a hand on her shoulder. "I know G'rett is your friend, and I can't stop you from going, but please promise me you'll be careful. It'll be hard on me with you there." He doubted she had any idea how important it was to him that she be protected. And this time, he might not be able to. It bothered him and he could only hope that it wouldn't completely ruin his focus during the mission.
Q'del walked over to Toniel and searched her with his eyes, wondering how she felt about the whole thing. She hadn't volunteered to go, which he expected and agreed with, both for selfish and practical reasons, but she'd made no other remarks either, and considering how good she was at concealing her emotions, he was unsure of her opinion. And of all people, to him her opinion was the most important. "You'll stay here with Cybele?" he asked finally. "She'll be watching over Artemth with a dragonhealer, but I think she would value your support."
The Weyrwoman had already slipped out to the Infirmary, where Quindara and Artemth were waiting. Unbeknownst to the silver, her food had been drugged, and now the healers were checking her over while they waited for the drug to kick in. Quindara was doing her best not to be nervous or agitated, so as not to alarm her lifemate. As Cybele arrived, the silver's head had begun to droop as the healer lifted her translucent wingsail.
Quindara smiled fondly at Artemth. Mine, I'm feeling very sleepy all the sudden.
"Well you are a growing dragon after all. Just lie down right here." Artemth replied with no protest and was spon deeply asleep. The Healer laid his head on her chest.
"Her heartbeat is strong and steady. She'll be fine.. Should be out for about six hours."
The copper-lockedweyrkibg stroked her head and sighed. "I feel bad, lying to her like this. I'm afraid she won't trust me as much when she finds out."
Cybele laid a hand on her shoulder. "I'm sure she'll forgive you. Besidesall that, in three days she won't even remember."
****** Exactly one mark later Arktos strode into the Bowl looking very fearsome indeed. He was wearing his normal riding leather, but also a thick scale-leather chestpiece. He had a sword on one hip, and a curved dagger on the other. His staff was across his back. His fingerless gloves had metal knuckles and he had more small knives hidden all over his person. Arkysk was also wearing custom leather armor. He never really thought he'd need these things but now he thanked whatever impulse had stirred him to such preparations. Once they arrived in the Bowl, Arktsk let out an eerie ululating cry.
We are going to save Coth's! If you want to help come to the Bowl now. he cried to all the whers and dragons.
Thank you. Nocheth replied civilly to the older brown's response, then returned his thoughts to only his rider. Z'zak-Mine, Joreth's is preoccupied with Minth's and will only be disturbed if Chrysoberyth rises.
Z'zak let out a grumble of annoyance before opening his dark eyes and glaring toward the ledge that belonged to Minth and Antera. Always toying with the ladies. It's gonna get him killed one of these days. he thought to himself before stepping briskly away from his brown's sandy hide. "Let's gitcha cleaned up, bud," he commented aloud with the rare sound of affection that came from his lips since that fateful jump forward in time. He would have already lit out of this place had he not had some compassion for the poor young riders that K'ain had practically forced into Impression at much too young an age in his opinion. He had patiently bid his time for a chance to overthrow his wingleader, but the opportunity had yet to present itself. Maybe with Chrysoberyth's first rise? He had no intention of leaving Kanly with this bronzeriding stranger when that happened. He would be here to help her in any way possible even if it meant winding up under the furs with her. He hoped that would not happen, but it was a possibility that he kept carefully in the back of his mind.
Sanrev had assembled with the others in the Bowl, the pupils of his green eyes reduced to mere slits from the brightness of the daylight. He was clad in his riding attire, a dagger at each side and a blade tucked into his left boot. Close combat was something that he lived for and he knew that he would enjoy the dance ahead should it be that way. Sanresk stood tall next to him, bits of handmade armor protecting his more vital places and a hood of sorts protecting his eyes from the light of day. Wher and handler studied those gathered, both reflecting on whom was on their side should a battle ensue at their destination. Neek flitted calmly about his Pet, the only hint of excitement in the humming trills that emitted from his bright body as he waited for instruction from his Pet.
Tess walked briskly out to meet Arktos, Tesk hopping along at her heels. No forgetting oaths?, the wher asked, picking up on her handler’s troubled thoughts. Tess pursed her lips and adjusted the pack she’d slung and tied conveniently over her shoulder – healing items only. She had to think a moment before she could reply, but finally found the words to put her wher to ease. “No. Not for me, Tesk. My worry is for our weyr, and the oaths my Healers gave…” Tesk bobbed her head in agreement and hummed.
A’ren fell into line without a word, walking at his sister’s shoulder. She spared him a glance and a frown, but he smiled and failed to meet her gaze. “I still don’t see why they’re taking the silver weyrling. Did they drug her dragon?” Tess’s frown deepened and she glanced away, grateful that A’ren hadn’t made eye contact after all. Did desperate times really call for such desperate measures?
They reached Arktos and Tess counted his weapons quietly; her heart giving a little lurch at each item. A’ren, too, eyed the other handler gravely. If hope, indeed, is a feathered thing, it flew from the bluerider now. This would not end well.
Kiyoni sighed softly. "I know you're going to be worried, Arktos," she said gently. "I am sorry about that. Truly I am. But I can't sit by and do nothing. I'll go crazy worrying about you." She looked away from him. She didn't know what else to say to him to make matters any better.
~~~~
Randy glanced over at her mate. She would rather one of them had been able to stay with Ranvik, but she knew that wasn't possible. It sounded like they would need all the help they could get. Randy wasn't a great fighter, but her brother had taught her a few things before he had died. And Ransk was there. "Do you think everyone will be okay?" she whispered to her mate as V'zee stood beside her.
~~~~
Kiyoni found Arktos down in the Bowl. She cringed when she saw all his weapons and Arkysk's armor. "Stay safe," she whispered to him, before kissing his cheek.
~~~
El'dan watched G'rett quietly. He glanced over at Kanly. "You holding up okay?" he asked the young red rider. He felt awful that she wasn't even really going to know what to expect from this flight. And she didn't even know the bronze rider. He sighed.
We can not change things now, Tyverith said gently. It will only get us all in trouble.
You're very right, Ty. I just hope Kanly will be okay.

Toniel felt her heart beating hard against the prison that was her chest. She could feel Q'del's eyes on her and she was doing all that she could to keep herself carefully in check. It took several moments until she was able to look at him and when she did, her eyes were perhaps a little more misty than usual, her brows perhaps a little furrowed, a little lower. The rest of her face was placid, the muscles submissive to her inner demands to remain perfectly calm. She couldn't reveal her emotions. She had let go for a few moments during the Hatching Feast and now they were here. She didn't want to be here, with G'rett and Coth kidnapped, Quindara risking herself and her queen to save him and with her personal life promptly thrown into the spotlight.
Toniel swallowed and nodded. "Yes, I will stay. I can not risk Aylinth," she said in her whispery voice. Calm, even, soft...just like usual. Her eyes were still on his though and she could see the question mirrored in them, though she couldn't have said what that question was. She nodded again. "I will be with her," she agreed. She wished he would, too, but she couldn't tell him that.

M'lym joined the others in the weyrbowl, his stony faced expression hiding his inner nervousness. He was carrying only one weapon, his trusty sword. He didn't often use it, but he thought every rider should own a weapon. Not that he expected it to be needed for something like this. Iverasth was beside him, his eyes whirling with anxiousness. He did not like that his rider would be flying with someone else. Please come back safe,[/color] he told M'lym, nuzzling his rider's shoulder.
I will, old friend. Don't worry. He patted the dragon's nose before moving over to Meera. "I'm ready as I'll ever be," he told her, squeezing her shoulder.

Meera stood anxiously beside Vanlith. The green rider hadn't ever really learned weapons perfectly, but from being a rider for so long she had at least learned the basics. Enough to hopefully at least keep her alive and safe.
Vanlith crooned softly. I won't let you get hurt, the green promised.
Meera leaned against her dragon. I know you will, Van. She looked over when she heard M'lym's soft voice. She gave him a nervous smile. "I hope no one gets hurt," she said, finding herself moving closer to him without thinking.
