Tesni nodded at the boy, and finished filling out her form. "Well, you seem to be in perfect health." She felt sorry to have to keep him here, he looked like an active youth, and no matter how diligently they'd tried to entertain him, he'd be bored. "Let me show you where you'll be staying for the next sevenday," she said, breezing back into the hallway and turning right. There was large room, painted pale jade, and filled with furniture and cushions in bright blues and greens. There were lots of books and games. "This is the common room here. I think you have the place to yourself right now, and then down this hallway are the individual rooms." She peered into the first one, pointing into a small room with a comfortable looking bed, an oil lamp, a bookshelf and a desk. The walls were painted klah brown. "They're pretty much all the same...except they're all painted a different color," she said, grinning. "So pick whichever you want. If you want to ask me any, or just talk, I'll be around. You can go anywhere around here except out the door."
Arktos backed into the door to the sleeping area. "I'm sure he'll forgive you," he said softly, letting out a small sigh of contentment as she leaned against him. Then he chuckled. "Its me you're reporting to, you wherry. You think I'm going to chew you out for being late? You can tell me all about it later, you need sleep." he said, smiling and kissing her on the brow. He sat on the edge of the bed with her still cradled in his arms. "Now, get yourself out of your riding gear, girl, I don't think that'll be very comfortable to sleep in," he said. "Unless you want me to help you?" he said with a rakish smile as he set her down on the bed.

"I hope so," Kiyoni said. She figured once Jaysen was out of quarantine she'd make a point to go see him. At least try to apologize to him for being such a dead glow. And maybe she'd actually have her head on straight this time since she had finally come to see Arktos again. That was another big mistake on her part. She never should have stayed away. Well, she had one apology down. Two to go. She also owed G'rett an apology for disappearing.
The search rider actually chuckled at his statement. "Mmm, good point," she agreed, keeping her head against his chest. She yawned a bit. "Alright, I'll tell you later then." She sighed softly and closed her eyes at his light kiss. Kiyoni looked up at him. "You know, that got us in trouble last time," she teased. "But if you wouldn't mind helping me with my jacket I think I can do the rest."

Jaysen and Misty merely looked at each other; the queen firelizard's purplish eyes reflecting the worry behind them. Even a wherry could see just how lonely the pair would be. Trying to force a chuckle, Jaysen reached up to comfort his companion. "We'll get through this, Misty. We've weathered worse storms before," he told his flit softly. Taking a peek into the other rooms, the young sailor found a room with bluish-green walls, otherwise it was nearly identical to the other room he'd first been shown. "I think we'll take this one," he told Tesni.
Stepping through the doorway, Misty flew off her pet's shoulder and landed on the headboard. She crooned at him softly, wondering what their next move was. "I really can't say for sure, Misty," Jaysen replied. "We'll have to wait out the sevenday before we can do anything right now." Getting to the bottom of this would also be a start. Kiyoni and I will have a talk, and I'd like to know what's been bothering her to the point where she was so distracted, she never told me about staying in quarantine.

The Searchrider nodded. "Sounds good. I like that color too, reminds me of Kaitoth," she said with a fond smile. "But I'll be here if you have any questions to ease your boredom with. I've be a rider for a little while, and I'm a Searchrider too, so I'd like to think I'm pretty experienced." She backed out of the room and walked over to the desk humming, giving the boy some time to let it sink in. Besides, he seemed troubled.
Arktos smiled. "I promise to behave, for now," he said, pulling off his own boots before standing to help slide her jacket off her shoulders and kissing her lightly on the neck as he did so. "But I wouldn't exactly call that 'trouble' that we got ourselves into," he chuckled. He pulled off his tunic and belt that jangled with keys and eating knife, leaving him only in dark canvas pants. He never wore wherhide in the summer if he could help it. It was too blasted hot. Now comfrtable enough to sleep in, he watched Kiyoni with lazy fascination.

Kiyoni chuckled softly. "Maybe after our nap we'll be able to "misbehave" for a bit," she hinted at playfully. The search rider was grateful to get out of her jacket. She was tired and still a bit upset that she had forgotten to tell Jaysen about the quarantine. She pulled her boots off and wiggled her toes gratefully before sitting down beside Arktos. She left her belt knife by her jacket and loosened her shirt a couple ties. "True. That definitely wasn't trouble," she agreed with a smile.

Arktos chuckled, leaning back to dim the glows that hung over the bed. He reached out to Kiyoni, pulling her down beside him, his arms around her waist and his face in her hair. She smelled good, of woman, and soapsand, the cinnamon- sulphur of dragon. He sighed contentment and kissed her neck lightly. "I have missed you," he said, reaching up to stroke her hair. "When I said that I loved you, I meant it."

Kiyoni yawned again and quickly covered her mouth. She had a feeling she'd be asleep in no time. Especially with Arktos being so close. She smiled and let him pull her down beside her. The search rider snuggled close to his chest, finding his hand to twine her fingers through his. She shivered slightly at his light kiss. "I've missed you too," she whispered. "I give you my word that I won't disappear like that again." Kiyoni sighed softly as he played with her hair. She liked when he did that. "I love you too," she whispered. "More then I can say."

"Well, good," he murmured into her hair as she grabbed his hand. He ran his thumb over her small fingers idly, the warmth of her body causing his muscles to relax further. He felt a soothing blissful contentment suffuse through him. Soon, his breathing was deep and even, and he had slipped into the arms of sleep.
