S'tex was getting fidgety. His walk to the Dining Cavern hadn't helped him any. The bronze rider tried to ignore the feelings rushing through him as he got to his feet. Seeing M'thos and E'lon together wasn't helping him any.
The young bronze rider sighed and decided to see if maybe, just maybe walking would help. He wasn't really paying attention to anything and nearly ran into some one else. He looked up quickly. "Sorry," he mumbled.
~~~
Katleya caught sight of D'mar heading for the kitchen. She had seen the boy Impress and wondered just what he was up to. She hadn't had a chance to meet all the new weyrlings, but she was curious. The young blue rider got to her feet and followed D'mar, hoping he wouldn't mind. She was bored and fighting the lust from a gold flight wasn't easy.
"What are you making?" she asked curiously as she watched D'mar with the knife. Whatever it was, it looked good. She hadn't thought about the possibility that she may have scared him.
Aylinth snorted softly at the sight of the sand lightly dusting the coppery bronze's hide. I think I am happy to watch you do it[/color], she responded with evidence of disdain in her tone. The thought of getting the stuff all over her was just absolutely appalling. A soft shudder ran through her orange-gold hide and she sat up again, nipping at the grains of sand that dared cling to her sides. She flared her wings, shaking more of the sand from her and then gently fanned herself, blowing the remainder of it off. Satisfied, she folded her wings back to her back. Slowly she rose to her feet and stepped tentatively towards the waves lapping at the shore. Hmm...a swim might be nice.
Toniel wasn't sure what he was laughing at, unless it was his own dragon's puppy-ish antics. But then he seemed to focus back in on her, shrugging after a moment. He pulled the hem of his shirt upwards and her eyes widened slightly at the sight of the large bruise and the bandage that covered another wound. She almost wanted to smooth her fingers over the hurts and soothe them, which she reassured herself was just the remnants of flightlust speaking. Right? There was a degree of concern lingering in her eyes, though and she did allow her gaze to settle on his injuries for awhile before pulling it back up to his face. "I am glad, too," she said, almost without thinking. Where had that come from? Yes, she was glad. It was only natural for her to be glad he had not been more seriously injured. He was the Weyrsecond and a bronzerider, after all, valuable to the Weyr's survival. She couldn't think of anything more to say, anything to divert her attention from the eyes that were suddenly locked with her. She knew she should express her concern for the others as well and ask how they had faired. But...she couldn't.
As Chandrath once more took another turn and dove for the ground again, Kyanath tried his best to head in the direction of her descending path. Though he was starting to feel a tightness in his wings, he continued onward, pushing himself as he always did for any gold or green that took to the skies in lust. As she slipped into her barrel roll, she had already passed him up, but he started a dive once again. This was fun daring the ground to rise to meet them before laughing at it as they headed toward the dark sky again. He spun after her when she did her first turn, but the little bronze had not anticipated her second turn in the grace of half a loop. Discovering that the glowing beauty was once again diving for the ground, Kyanath followed with only a hair bit more caution than before as his last maneuver had nearly wrecked him into Reloith. Chandrath was awful daring in the growing darkness.
V'zee closed his eyes again as Kyanath seemed to draw strength from him. He could feel the tightness in his own arms, a reflection of the close-knitted bond between them. With arms folded, the dark haired rider gripped his elbows to keep himself from stepping toward Cybele. He was not going to sway her dragon's choice by her. It was not going to happen. At the golden beasts next move, V'zee swayed in his stance again as his dragon countered her in the same fashion, feeling the closeness of another dragon in the tingling of his skin or maybe that was the healing wound tracing the length of his arm?
Kyanath opened his wings shortly after Chandrath to change his direction, slinging himself after another thermal quickly, barely brushing past another male in the chase. Whom, he was not certain as his mind was only on trying to keep up with the lovely golden Chandrath in her dance. He had to keep up. He just had to! He beat his long wings hard and fast in his struggle to gain composure again, gaining height once again.
***************
Vikki trilled merrily as his attempt to put one of Ranvik's blankets on a shelf resulted in a tumble of bright blue and green wrapped up together in a heap on the floor. A wing stuck out one side, his tail somewhere else, one foreleg was visible and neither back leg and half of his head remained in view as he squawked in surprise at what he had just accomplished.
**************
C'nell stared at his dozing blue, the aqua hide still except for that of rhythmic breathing. He felt the stirring of his mother's dragon's flight lust in his own body, but he did not know how to react to it, having not really matured enough yet to take an interest in that sort of thing. He supposed since he had Impressed that he was feeling Chandrath's lust more than before, but other than that, he did not know what to do, so he sat there with his arms wrapped about his dragonet and his face buried in tears of uncertainty.
******************
((To anyone left in the Weyrling Barracks))
Kyler had had enough, Chandrath's lust finally taking hold of her enough to drive her to move around. She did not want to leave her lovely green, but she felt compelled to do something, anything. With an annoyed huff, she got to her feet, gazed at her new lifemate a long, contemplating moment, then started to walk around the Barracks. She did not want to be far from Nyxith whenever she woke from the drug.
************
Sanrev was just waking from his day of rest when Chandrath had Risen. Since Sanresk was only affected in excitement that he would see the tail end of a mating flight, the Guardsman had it easy. He slowly got ready to wander about for the night, smiling from the excitement of his Bonded and Neek's merry trilling about the Flight going on outside.
D'mar did jump slightly at the sound of a purr behind him. Granted it should have been a small one, but the already frayed nerves caused the cooking green rider to drop his knife with a small clatter. A glance over his shoulder met a face he wasn't all familiar with, but he could recognize the familiar light burning in her eyes. It was the same that pooled deep in his own, darkening them to a stormy grey.
"Just some prep work for the night meal. Veggies and tubers really... Something to keep my hands busy and my mind off...." The rider of Sionnth trailed off here, a slight blush on his cheeks. The lady in his kitchen seemed to be fighting the same battle. Looks like she was winning hers though. In an effort to distract his wayward thoughts -and body- the teen introduced himself, "The name's D'mar," He stated plainly as he shook a wayward lock of hair from his face. If she wished to know his dragon's name, well she would have to ask. If anything it would drag out the conversation long enough for D'mar to convince himself that kissing her would be a bad idea.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cheriss had moved on from fiddling with her hemline of her shirt to twirling a lock of her short but steadily growing hair around her finger. It seemed her time with Eponath was smoothing some of her rougher edges. Long skirts, longer hair, if one didn't now better, the tomboy chandler would seem almost lady like. There was little ladylike about the lust glazing the teen twin's eyes however.
She was so lost in trying to decipher her confused feelings that she didn't notice someone coming up behind her. The moment she realized the feelings and desires coursing through her veins, Cheriss stopped dead in her tracks. This forced a body to brush against hers. For one delicious moment Cheriss was lost in sensations. Then a familiar voice broke into her daydreams.
"S'tex? I-it's okay. I-I-I wasn't watching where I was going either.... What's going on? Why... Why do I feel like I'm jumping out of my skin?" she asked nervously. Something new and a bit frightening was waking in the red rider, and Cheriss wasn't toomsure what to do about it.

Katleya continued to watch D'mar work. She cringed when he jumped. So much for keeping quiet. Although to be fair, she was a bit jumpy herself. Azariaith was still young after all, so she hadn't had to suffer too many flights. And for some reason this one was extremely hard to battle. As she watched D'mar she thought she recalled that he rode a green, but she couldn't remember for sure.
"Well, it smells good," she said with a smile, staying at the door for the time being. Although she was really having to fight to stay there. "It's a pleasure to meet you D'mar. I'm Katleya, rider of blue Azariaith. You ride a green don't you?" she asked, cocking her head to the side.
~~~~
S'tex jumped when the person he had run into spoke up. "Cheriss!" he said in surprise. He hadn't expected to run into the red rider. And running into her was making things rough on him. The teen shook his head. "I think it has something to do with Chandrath's flight," he answered, trying to keep his voice steady. He was feeling jumpy and experiencing emotions he never had before.
~~~
Randy laughed as Vikki got tangled up in the blanket. She walked over and knelt down to help the little flit. "Hold still, Vikki. I'll get you out," she said as she carefully started to unwind the blanket to rescue the little blue.

Iverasth raced after Chandrath, flaring his wings to their full width as he soared higher and higher. Suddenly she veered, then pulled into a barrel roll. Iverasth felt almost dizzy as he watched the Queen dance through the air, performing tricks that were simply impossibly for a bulky bronze. All he could do was follow her, doing his best to copy her twists and turns. He ended up looking clumsy, but at least he didn't fall out of the running. He backwinged, reacting to her change of direction with as much alacrity as he could.
She dove again, and this time Iverasth didn't think before snapping his wings to his side and following. He wasn't agile, but in this area, his weight helped. He fell fast, rocketing downwards. Then he flared his wings open again, and the momentum gave him an extra boost upwards. He straightened up again and flew towards Chandrath, intent on getting as close to her as he could without upsetting her.
M'lym winced as his dragon snapped his wings open. He was going to be feeling that later, but right now the bronze cared nothing for little aches and panes. He took a deep breath and fixed his gaze on Cybele, his heart pounding.

Chandrath hovered for a moment, feeling a twinge of fatigue as she looked back at the males. All of them had kept up with her for the most part, showing daring and resolve. It made her choice more difficult, but the need that burned through her veins would not allow her to put off her decision for much longer. She circled higher and higher, just enough to keep them back as she considered, finally falling back to her lifemate's memories to influence her choice.
It only took a moment for her to come to at least a partial decision. She dove down suddenly, arrowing her body to come close between Reloith and Kyanath. Lets see what they made of that opportunity.
Cybele's gaze suddenly fixed on T'tarel and V'zee. Of course, the part of her that was still thinking clearly had a preference of her own, but she held herself back...instead taking a step toward the two bronzeriders, feeling something thrumming in her body like a primitive drumbeat.
*********
For Q'del, it seemed the entire world had gone still as Toniel looked into his eyes. For the first time he thought, she was really looking at him openly, he could see concern there, and maybe fear. The moment seemed to hang, each heartbeat drumming in his ears almost deafening, and then he did something he hoped he would not regret. Taking a quick step forward, he embraced her, still looking into her eyes, silently begging her not to run. "Toniel...I hope you know I care for you...I know I've never said anything, but I haven't wanted to push you away. But at the moment when I thought I saw my death before my eyes, all I could think was, I couldn't bear dying without telling you that I love you. That I always have.." he trailed off, running out of words.
Demnoth seemed to freeze in place...yet if a dragon could look smug...
*************
Arktos nodded. "I've been better...but I guess that means we'll just have to be gentle with each other," he said, a familiar light in his eyes as he pulled her close again, kissing her brow. Then he kissed her on the lips again, still gently, but more passionately, running his hands down her back.

Reloith watched as Chandrath seemed to freeze. He had a feeling she had something else in mind to try to throw them off. It had been a long flight and he could feel his own wings burning from the effort, but he wasn't about to give up. He would follow the golden beauty until he couldn't fly anymore. She deserved that much and he would make sure she got it.
The bronze was caught off guard for a split second as she dove between himself and Kyanath. Reloith bugled and did the tightest turn he had ever managed to accomplish to follow her. He didn't want to chance losing her now. Reloith caught a thermal that put him just above Chandrath's golden body. He hoped he had guessed right and that maybe she would shoot straight up. Then he'd have her.
T'tarel stood rooted to the floor as he watched his bronze fight to impress and stay close to Chandrath. His heart jumped into his throat at the tight turn, worrying that Reloith would hurt himself. The young man's eyes shot open and he noticed Cybele for the first time. He smiled and his crystal eyes lit up as she stepped closer to them. He wouldn't try to touch her until her gold had chosen. But he did push Reloith harder.
~~~
Kiyoni smiled sympathetically and kissed his neck. "I'm sorry to hear that, baby. But you were very brave," she whispered. The search rider nodded. "Yes, I believe we better." She knew they couldn't and wouldn't fight the lust, but they could keep it gentle. she wrapped her arms around his neck as she leaned into his kiss, shivering at the touch on her back.
Kyanath saw the pause but continued his ascent toward the golden beauty, shimmering from the glow of what remained of the sun, flying as straight as he could to try to get nearer to her in her circling ascent.
As Chandrath dove once again, little Kyanath angled himself to try to sway her decision, not quite rolling enough to manage a catch. Unlike His, he was enjoying this chase far too much. He dove in mirror of Reloith, perhaps slightly tighter than the bigger bronze, but hardly any advantage, adding an affectionate croon as the golden dragon slipped between them. He loved this thrill.
V'zee smiled to himself. Kyanath was chasing this gold with a lot more passion than he had chased a dragon in a long time. His bronze might just be trying for this catch instead of letting her go at last moment. His thoughts briefly strayed to the newer colors, thinking that they could be the cause, but they only stayed on that track for a mere moment. His thoughts snapped back to the present situation and he opened dark, dragon-linked eyes to see the Weyrwoman stepping toward his general direction. Well, more like the odd image of shining speeding dragon and beautiful woman mixed together. Randael was far from his mind as he let his dragon fly, pushing the little bronze to give this flight an effort to the very end, stepping forward himself and reaching ever so slightly for her as his dragon had Hers. Not that he did not have faith in his lifemate, but Kyanath did love to toy with the females, but this flight had no such thing involved.
-----------------
Vikki trilled merrily at Randy, his sounds a mix of croons, warbles, and trills. Though he tried to stay still for her, his tail twitched happily as he stared at her with multi-faceted eyes of a blue nearly the color of his hide.
Picking up his knife again, D'mar nodded. A quick glance over his shoulder told where Katleya stood... And how pretty she looked today. Clearing his throat and focusing once more on his knife work, D'mar answered, "Sionnth. A pretty lil' thing but nosy as all get out."
Unsure of what to do now, the teen pulled another vegetable out for chopping. This was all mindless work designed to keep his hands where they belonged and not tracing a smooth cheek... Or more... If this was what it was like when a queen rose, the lust ridden green rider was in for a hell of a time when Sionnth rose. Swallowing hard against the dryness in his mouth, D'mar searched for something to say, anything... "So is there anything I can interest you in?" Okay not the wittiest thing to say, but it did the job.. Right?
~~~~~~
The flight? Cheriss, the poor tomboy, was having troubles wrapping her mind around much of anything. So when S'tex tried to explain what he thought was affecting so, the brunette had to focus on his words rather than the lips they came from. Shells and shards this was confusing! Why was she so interested in his lips all of a sudden? They're lips for Faranth's sake! You eat with them, talk with them.... Oh yes... You can kiss with them too. Was that it? Did she want S'tex, one of her first friends, to kiss her?
Her tongue working much faster than her addled brain, a handful of hasty words came from her own full lips in a heated whisper, "S'tex? Kiss me? Please?" The last was a plea, a cry to help her understand the sensations rampaging through the teenage body.

Katleya chuckled softly as she watched D'mar's hands. She had to hand it to him, he seemed to be holding off the flight lust pretty well. Although his words said differently. She smiled. "Dragons can be like that," she said. "Azariaith can still be nosy, but thankfully he's starting to grow out of that." The girl tried to keep her mind on things. She didn't want to scare the poor boy after all.
The blue rider stepped closer to the table, watching D'mar work with the knife and vegetables. The whole time though she wasn't really paying attention. She was too mesmerized by his hands and what she was sure he could do with them. Her face flushed and she quickly looked up at his question. "Umm," she fumbled for something to say. "Maybe." Maybe coming in here hadn't been the smartest idea, but D'mar was cute and it was a flight. Katleya finally threw caution to the wind and kissed him before stepping back.
~~~~
S'tex was trying hard to concentrate on what he was saying. But he kept getting distracted by Cheriss. He had always thought she was pretty and fun to be around, but right that minute he was looking at her in a whole different way. His body was sending him all kinds of mixed messages that he wasn't able to work through.
The teen quickly looked up when Cheriss spoke very slowly and it only made S'tex's heart pound faster. He stared for a second at her request. Should he? She was one of his best friends. "Okay," he whispered, stepping closer to her. He didn't know the first thing about this, but he slowly put his arms around her waist and pressed his lips to hers, not sure if he was doing it right.
~~~
"There you go, silly," Randy said, tossing the blanket to the side. She could hear the dragons outside and closed her eyes tightly. Surely the flight would be over soon and she would know the outcome. She got to her feet and went to curl up on the couch.

D'mar was trying to focus on his chopping. It wouldn't do for him to chop his own hand, now would it? By the time he finished the vegetable in his hand, his nerves were all but gone. He couldn't stand there and not do something any longer. Just as he made that desicion, Katleya beat him to the punch.
For a brief moment the green rider felt a warm pressure against his lips. He blinked his grey eyes shut, and the kiss was over. Oh ho, or so the woman thought. D'mar on the other hand, had more ideas than he could deal with. As Katleya stepped away, the cook set his knife down, wiped his hands clean on a cloth and spun around to face her again. "You call that a kiss, Katleya? Care to try again?" He teased stepping in closer. Allowing his hand the freedom they were wishing for since he heard the teasing lilt behind him, callused fingers traced a stray strand of hair on her cheek. All caution had been left behind on his cutting board it seemed, for he leaned in and nipped at her full bottom lip.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Cheriss sighed softly as arms circled her waist. There now a tiny bit of the distracting itching was eased. The feeling of another's lips against her own was a new one. Something she found to be quite enjoyable. Blushing, she closed her grey eyes and stepped in closer, trying to minimize the distance. Why she needed to, Cheriss had no idea, but boy did it feel good! Her own toned arms found their way around S'tex's shoulders as she returned the light pressure with her lips.
Feeling rather bold under the influence of flight lust and the simple joy of her first kiss, Cheriss decided to deepen their kiss. A bit nervous, a bit confused and highly interested, Cheriss slid her tongue first along her bottom lip. Then she did the same to S'tex's. But that's where her boldness ended. Pulling back slightly she looked at her friend, truly seeing him as if for the first time. Had she done it right? Why wasn't the ache lessening? Why was it growing stronger instead of leaving? She hoped her thoughts weren't all visible on her face, but at the same time she knew they were. So in an effort to drive those thoughts away and to distract her mind once more, Cheriss leaned in and kissed her friend again.
Katleya shifted a little. Had she made the right choice? Maybe she should have tried to control herself more. But then again they were riders. She knew all candidates learned about mating flights and what could happen during them.
The teen watched as D'mar wiped his hands off. She couldn't quite read if he was upset or get that she had kissed him. She for one was glad she had. Even if it had been brief. A seductive smile flitted across her face at his question. "Well, that all depends," she grinned, her green eyes showing her true feelings. Katleya closed her dark eyes as his fingertips brushed her cheek. She couldn't believe the jolt that ran through her just from that touch. Her eyes opened when he nibbled on her lip. "Mmm, you're not planning on stopping there, are you?" she whispered, wrapping her arms around his neck.
~~~
S'tex had been pleasantly surprised by the kiss. He had never kissed anyone before and he hadn't been sure if he was doing it right or if Cheriss had even enjoyed it. The teen leaned into her kiss, his arms staying around her waist. He felt a muscle tighten in his groin as she wrapped her arms around his neck. This was a feeling that he had never had before and he wasn't sure quite how to fix it.
The boy was slowly losing any hold he had had to the flight. The longer the flight and the closer Cheriss was the more control he lost. S'tex managed to suppress a moan as her tongue touched his lip. That was something he hadn't expected, but he liked. The pain and tightness in his body only seemed to get worse as Cheriss pulled away. Was her? What was he supposed to do now? He looked up at his friend, his blue eyes a bit hazy. He could see the emotions written across her face, mirroring his own. "Cheriss," he whispered, but stopped as she kissed him again. He pulled her close, his hand resting on the small of her back while he returned her kiss with a bit more heat then before.

((To Kia/Lyrensa))
C'olt tried to gently undo Kia's crossed arms, but wasn't sure if he could get his lover to relent a little. "We can come back afterwards," he said, thoughtfully. "To be honest, the idea of her carrying my child yet someone else spending this Flight with her is a bit unsettling." He gestured towards the entry way, then offered his arm to Kia. "I'm not sure how we can get her to burn off that excess energy that usually comes as a result of Flightlust, hopefully you'll have an idea of what to say to her." C'olt wouldn't be the first to admit he would be at a loss for words, and his lust was starting to spiral out of control. He had to hold on for his sake, and that of Kia's and Lyrensa's, for as long as he could. The Healer knew from reading the various records just how physical a Flight could go between two people who had succumbed to the lust. He also knew what type of risk that posed to a woman with child, and that didn't sit well with him.
((C'pher's lonely!))
Unfortunately for C'pher, in his lust-affected mind he had forgotten Mia's injuries had proven to be fatal during that battle with the rogue Dragonriders, and she had perished shortly after returning to Nova, her Green Sorbeth going between upon the pretty girl's demise. The Searchrider stepped into the now-empty weyr, and he faltered, stumbling a bit and eventually falling onto his hands and knees. He couldn't stop sobbing, and he had never felt so lonely...but the burning desire continued to climb even higher within his veins, and C'pher rose, turning around on his heel and departed the deserted quarters, his tears still streaming down his cheeks. The man was going to find someone to share this night with, even if it meant one of the female drudges in the lower caverns.
((G'rett to Quindara))
The moment Chandrath narrowed down her choices was when Coth knew he was out of the running. G'rett sensed it, and he growled, spinning on his heel then left Cybele's personal chambers. His Bronze was every bit as worthy as his competition, but the Senior Queen apparently thought otherwise when she dove towards Reloith and Kyanath, daring either of them to grab her. This wasn't the first time Coth lost a Flight, but the lust was still raging in the Wingleader's veins. His heart was now in conjunction with his mind, and practically guided his feet in the direction of the Weyrling Barracks.
The pain in his body had been effectively dulled, but still ached nonetheless. If he couldn't have Cybele, G'rett would gladly settle for his true love, Quindara. He all but ignored the directive for him to not step foot into the female side of the Weyrling Barracks, striding over to where the redheaded beauty was sitting next to her silver dragon. Wordlessly, he leaned over, placing his hands on either side of Quindara, then pressed his lips against hers.
((B'ren to Tanly))
Chiath, too, knew there wasn't much of a chance he would win this Flight either, and B'ren blinked as he started to regain control over his body. Cybele was firmly fixated on T'tarel and V'zee, and not any of the others. G'rett wasn't happy, but B'ren simply shrugged. Not the first time he'd lost a Flight, but he was still wanting nonetheless. The Brown Rider made his way back to his quarters, and when he did he walked up to Tanly and planted a kiss on her lips, growling in his throat. B'ren would have his way with his weyrmate and lover this night.

Vikki crooned at the wherhandler and followed her to the couch, deciding that his funny thoughts about the Flight just would not do and so opted to curl up on her lap, lightly shaded tail wrapped gently about her knee. He stretched out his neck to lick at her face with an affectionate croon.
---------------------------
Kikikaa had been holding up well for this flight, though her bronze Trouble was not helping her any. She was not yet helping with the Weyrlings as she had only submitted her request a few days back, but that was actually far from her mind at the present moment in time. The pretty young greenrider had managed the flight so far and if she did not make to her weyr soon, then she was going to chase the first thing that crossed her path. Only a few paces from her door did she find her path somewhat blocked by another rider. Trouble chittered merrily while Treasure helped the young rider to decide on whom she was about to bump into. "C'pher, you okay?" she asked after deciding that it was indeed the bluerider who had recently been with another greenrider that the battle had claimed. Don't touch him unless you want to drag him to your bed, she firmly reminded herself.
