Coth and Chiath both had to pull up hard to avoid crashing into the lake and into the other dragons; the Bronze and Brown both roaring at each other and at their competition in frustration. Coth hissed, then as he began to climb he caught sight of Cybele arching up and over the entire group, the Queen ascending skyward via thermals. She seemed to enjoy causing this chaos, but Coth wouldn't have any of it. He knew, though, he had to continue to woo Chandrath if he were to win this Flight. Shall we continue to dance, my Queen?[/i][/b] Catching a thermal of his own, the Bronze spread his wings and rocketed skyward, closing in on his prize.
Chiath likewise hissed in return as he realized Chandrath's trick of looping behind her would-be suitors before launching herself higher. Hearing Coth's crooning, the Brown compensated with a trick of his own. There is none better than I, fair Chandrath, Mistress of the Skies![/b][/i] Chiath, too, caught a thermal to climb in the Queen's wake, performing a slow barrel roll just for the thrill.
Meanwhile, B'ren and G'rett glared at each other; the Wingleader shoving the Brown Rider into some of the other Riders, followed by B'ren shoving G'rett back. Their dragons had nearly collided with each other after that gutsy maneuver by Chandrath, and neither man appreciated it. G'rett then closed in on Cybele, gently caressing her cheek with his fingertips before passionately kissing the Weyrwoman with his lips. He wanted to let her know just how badly his body was on fire for her, to let his need for her be known. It was hard to find the words to say to Cybele, yet the lust in his brown eyes were evident. B'ren, too, stepped in; only he walked around the Weyrwoman and grabbed her by her hips, pulling her back against him so she could feel how hard he was before rubbing his pelvis against the woman's backside.
*****
((To Kia and Lyrensa))
It was a good thing Aromath was old enough to understand the complexity of human emotions when under the effect of Flightlust. C'olt had seen it many times before, but with none of the Weyrlings able to get away in time meant their entire group had the potential to fall under the powerful sway of raw passion, brought on by a Queen mating with her chosen male. The Journeyman Healer made sure his bonded was doing well - which she was, thankfully - then he made his way over to Kia's personal quarters. C'olt had every reason to worry for her, especially now that she was one of two women now carrying his child. Knocking on the entryway, he ducked his head inside, hoping Kia would be present. If she was, he'd ask her to accompany him to check up on Lyrensa, and together they would stay with her until the Flight was over. It'd be a warm night between before he would leave his fellow Healer and second lover to the mercy of another consumed by Flightlust.
*****
((To Mia))
C'pher knew what was going on the moment Chandrath took to the skies with every Bronze and Brown chasing her. A Queen Flight meant anyone within the Weyr could potentially be consumed by Flightlust, and with the Weyrlings unable to leave only made matters worse. On the other hand, this would probably be the ideal time to find Mia and stay with her. His fellow Green Rider, he knew, would have a bit more control over her emotions than most...but there was no way he would just sit and do nothing.
C'pher had always been smitten with Mia, and now he would have an excellent opportunity to convey his feelings for her...including on a deep, physical level.
*****
((To Calyssa))
Misty reappeared from between and perched herself on J'sen's shoulder just as he watched K'von peel off his tunic and sandals before diving into the lake. Turning around, he caught sight of Calyssa and Storm walking towards them. A familiar sensation was starting to overtake him, and it was identical to when Misty was playing with Storm. It was definitely a powerful magnet, but J'sen couldn't help himself. The queen flit knew what was going on, and she launched herself from her pet's shoulder and trilled at Storm, wanting him to follow her and give their humans a bit of privacy.
J'sen reached out for Calyssa, and pulled her close to him. His eyes searched hers, brushing aside a lock of her hair before he closed his eyes and pulled her even closer to him for a kiss. It was now or never.

Little Kyanath continued in his rolling descent, slowly making less of a spin as they approached the ground at such a pace, but he did not pull up early. He opened his long wings little by little as his barrel roll grew less, snapping them open just in time to carry himself upward half a length above the water's surface, still pursuing the golden beauty with the thrill of the dive mixing with that of the flight lust.
V'zee watched through his dragon's eyes as he continued toward the ground. Kyanath had always been a daring dragon and gold flights were no exception. He shifted his stance as his bronze pulled up just before crashing into the ground. That could have been a disaster, but he had a great deal of faith in his lifemate. He rode with Kyanath as they climbed into the darkening sky once again, opening his dark, icy eyes a moment to see the blurred double vision of his own and that of his dragon's, he saw the Weyrwoman before him, fighting the physical urge to step closer to her like his dragon was unrestrained in his trying for hers.
He had not been ready for the sudden stop of the senior gold, but he was quickly billowing his own wings so that he would not crash into her if she happened to still be there by the time he reached her or any of the other males if he could help it. That just would not do! And then she went upward and... He snaked his long neck every which-way as he moved upward again, looking for the golden beauty he had just been chasing. There! Behind them? Usually only greens pulled that stunt! As he twisted and turned to head for her again, she headed skyward once more and so he followed suit with the same joy as before, still giving the chase everything he had. So stunning, beautiful Chandrath! he crooned to her merrily as the setting sun danced colors about her glowing hide.
Vikki found his way to Randael as his Pet was preoccupied with the current exciting event, chittering merrily his account to her, giving her amusing images of how he thought the flight should go.
***************
Kyler sat next to her sleeping green, worry etched across her face as she watched the rhythmic breathing of the young dragonet. She felt that the drugging of Nyxith and her clutchmates was completely and entirely wrong. What if they had horrible side affects toward their growth after this? Sure they had done it to Artemth not even a sevenday prior, but still! Though she felt the lust of the golden dragon flying and the reflection of it in Sunil as he flitted about somewhere in the Bowl beneath the excitement of the skies, her worry over her lifemate was more on her conscious, so she was staying put throughout the whole ordeal right next to Nyxith until she woke from the drugged slumber.
C'nell sat quietly next to his blue Manwydath, worried about his new lifemate and also wondering how the flight was going to end. Sure, he felt the stirring of a golden dragon's lust, but age and drowsiness from the aqua blue beside him overrode that feeling. Besides, the lad had yet to really know his preference. He just had not gotten to that transition in life. A dragon happily came first.

Toniel could still feel remnants of the mating lust clinging like wisps of fog to her mind, even though she had not been in the Weyr for long after discovering Chandrath's mating readiness. Being a queenrider, one had the most powerful channeler of energy connected to oneself. Aylinth felt everything deeply and intensely, whether it was anger, joy, or sadness, and remaining calm in that storm was always a test of the woman's resolve. So the moment that Chandrath's lust had trickled into the air, Aylinth had picked up on it and began to transform into a heated, fury-filled creature, ready to launch herself at the other queen to take the bronzes she always thought were hers regardless of who was rising.
The gold trumpeted a greeting to the red-bronze, her voice still holding a harsh edge to it. Toniel looked up sharply from her fingernails that she'd been idly picking at. She nodded at his words, lips pursing softly. "We almost didn't make it out of the weyr before Aylinth went crazy with lust," she commented. The gold now was lounging, splayed out in an undignified manner on the beach. If it had been any dragon but Demnoth, she would have snapped to a more regal position immediately, but she felt at ease around her mate, nipping lightly at his neck as he came to join her. Thank you, Demnoth. The sand feels very nice and warm,[/color] she said.
The corners of Toniel's lips slid upwards a fraction of an inch in a barely-noticeable smile. In fact, if it were for the natural curvature of her lips downwards, it might not have registered at all. But for someone who was so composed and so stoic, even a small smile was a breakthrough. "Thank you," she responded. "Aylinth enjoys the beach and the water and Leifa enjoys fishing here. It is peaceful," she said in her whispery voice. "Thank you for joining me," she said after a long moment of silence.
Lyrensa watched as Brigith's eyes slipped closed, sparking yellow in worry at this indescribable tiredness that was coming over her. It made the healer feel guilty, but she knew it was for the best. She was already feeling the tendrils of lust working its way into her belly, intensified by the hormones that had caused her to vomit regularly at least once a day. The worst thing about it was that some of the herbs she would have brewed into a tea for herself were unsafe for pregnancy, causing damage to the fetus growing within. That sharding C'olt. If he hadn't been so unbelievably attractive at that Hatching Feast, with all of his long, honey-blond hair and dancing green eyes....shells it was hot in here. She tried not to move her eyes, all too aware that with the feelings roaring through her right now, she might just jump the first thing that moved in front of her.
F'har was curled around his beloved green, placid only during sleep. She had kept him far too busy, with all of her boundless energy making her more prone to trouble. He had finally received an all clear from the healers so he was able to take care of her himself, a task that was so difficult he wondered how his brother and M'thos had possibly been able to help him with their dragonets to watch over. The young teenager was clinging desperately to his sleeping lifemate, a soft whimper escaping him from time to time as the lust radiating from Chandrath and her suitors latched onto him, causing certain parts of him to swell in a most embarrassing manner. Faranth, would he be able to live through this?
Back in the weyrling barracks, Quindara laid back in her cot, watching the Flight behind her closed eyes. It was good to have such a keenly observant firelizard. And the Flight was entertaining. Chandrath was cannier than the weyrling had expected. She glanced over at her sleeping silver, wondering what Artemth maiden Flight would be like. Coth had better win it she thought with an internl growl. And she hoped he lost this one. If G'rett was Weyrleader, that would make thinbgs difficult. Besides all that he was very young for such a role. Many of the older riders would probably be upset.
M'thos made sure once again that Sylvanuth was still breathing and then stood u abruptly, his voice unsteady. "I think...Im going to go get a drink...or something." K'von nodded mutely. He too had begun to feel a restless feeling in his blood. M'thos made his way out of the Barracks with a determined stride and decided to go to the kitchens...he felt hungry...or something.
After a few moments, K'von got up as well. At first he had no destination, but his feet quickly brought him to the lake. There, he quickly pulled off his tunic and sandals and swam out into the lake's center. The cool water was soothing, and it was actually a good place to view the Flight from. It was breathtaking.
Meanwhile, Arktos had now made sure all the Candidateswere settled, either off in the weyr proper for some of their own debauchery or they had been sent out of the weyr on a few willing greens and blues. He made his way back to his own quarters/office, feeling the flight beginning to pulse in his own veins. But with any luck, Kiyoni would be waiting for him.

((To C'olt))
Kia was sitting with her dragon on their ledge, watching the dragons rise into the air. Merequith was old enough to take in interest in what was going on, rather than being confused or not noticing at all. His tail swished back and forth and his eyes were whirling rapidly as he watched the Flight. Kia grinned. It seemed like the Blue couldn't wait to get into the air after some female himself!
She was definitely feeling the affects of lust herself. If C'olt didn't show up, she was planning to just tough it out. It didn't seem right to spend the night with a random man when she was carrying the child of another. Sure enough though, she heard a knock on her door. She gave Merequith a pat on the muzzle and then went to greet C'olt. "Hey there..." She winked and stood on tiptoes to kiss him. She was looking forward to this time together.
***
V'lain sat beside Osirith, watching the Black dragon sleep both to make sure he was okay and to keep himself calm. He didn't like the wild feelings raging through him. Unlike some weyrlings, he didn't want to give into the lust. He wanted to wait and have his "first time" with someone special, not some person he happened to be attracted to for a few hours because of the dragons. He sighed and looked around, seeing that some other weyrlings were having a hard time with this too. Well, how long could a Flight last? He was sure he could hold out until the feelings went away.

((To J'sen))
Storm chittered happily on Calyssa's shoulder as the girl's step faltered a little. The longer the flight went on the harder time she was having keeping control. She had never experience such feelings before. It was almost scary. She caught sight of K'von, but her eyes quickly drifted back to J'sen. He was the one she really liked. Stormy bobbed his head in answer to Misty and followed the little queen.
Calyssa let J'sen pull her close. The girl's breathing was a bit fast as J'sen brushed her hair out of her face. She looked up into his caring eyes before he leaned down to kiss her. The weyrling wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned into his kiss. She needed him more then she ever thought possible. The Flight was only intensifying her feelings for him.
~~~
Randy closed her eyes briefly as Vikki gave her images of the Flight. She knew the little blue was only trying to help, but the young woman really didn't want to know what was going on. She knew Flights were a part of being a rider, but she would rather have V'zee with her. Randy knew it was being selfish, but she really hoped he lost. She wasn't keen on sharing her mate with anyone, but she would do whatever needed done for the Weyr even if that meant allowing her mate to be with Cybele. She sighed softly and tried to find something to keep her mind occupied. She couldn't think about the Flight anymore.
~~~ Katleya sat in the Dining Cavern sipping on her klah. She'd been partnered with her blue for three Turns now, so she knew what to expect from a flight. And if she happened to end up with someone so be it. She smiled as she watched the ones who had made it to the Dining Cavern. Some seemed to be holding up better then others.

M'thos felt a slight shiver at his fellow weyrling's greeting. E'lon seemed...different somehow, and this unnameable difference made color rise to M'tho's cheeks. "Hey E'lon," he said somewhat uncertainly, reaching for the wineskin himself. He has never had wine before, and after taking a few gulps of the somewhat bitter and complicated-tasting drink, he wasn't sure that he liked it. But it soothed his parched throat. Unfortunately it did nothing for the tingling feeling that was buzzing in all his extremities. Especially a certain one he'd rather not mention. "So...um...Danuth went to sleep all right?"
*****
Demnoth seemed not to notice the harsh edge to Aylinth's voice and he accepted her playful nip with good cheer before giving her an exuberant nuzzling. The he flopped down beside her, his dignity long abandoned, if her ever had any. The sand is warm. It feels good. he said as he rolled over onto his back like an extremely large puppy.
Q'del shook his head in fond exasperation at the antics of his bronze before replying to Toniel. "Well, I'm glad you both made it here all right then. The weyr has enough excitement without the Golds battling it out." Left unsaid was the fact that this would leave Artemth as the only Queen on Pern. A mutant color who'd not yet to fly. The very thought gave him the shivers. He banished the thought and said,"I'm happy to keep you company instead," smiling back at her barely noticeable smile and trying to keep his tone light. After the battle it had somehow become much more important to him to win Toniel's affections, as if keenly aware that he might not have a lot of time.
********
Arktos closed the door behind him with a sigh of relief. Despote his Turns of experience, it was still hard to concentrate on his charges with a Goldflight going on outside.But now at least, he had someone to share it with that he loved. He pushed open the door to the bedroom and went over to his weyrmate, putting his arms around her and running his fingers thourgh her hair. "Beloved," he said, his voice raspy.
*********
The part of Cybele's mind that was still wholly her own was quite put off by the forcefulness of G'rett's and B'ren's attentions. In any other situation she would have smacked the both of them. But now her mind was torn, their masculine odors in her nostrils awaking a stirring in her blood she'd feared was dead. She gasped. Meanwhile, the part of her mind that was Chandrath was amused. It was only right for the males to fight over her, for she was a prize worth having. Cybele came to herself a bit after a moment and pushed both the men away, but the look in her eyes was more playful than angry. "Getting ahead of yourselves a little bit aren't you?" she teased.
Chandrath soared a bit higher on the thermal, snorting with slight amusement at all the males various exhortations of her beauty or their own worth. Talking was useless, flying was what mattered. Arching her back, she curved into a slow backward loop, flying upside down for a moment for another good look at her pursuers. Although her lifemate had tried to keep her preferences to herself, Chandrath knew that some of the male riders were preferred above others, for various reasons. Well, she'd see if they were worthy. The decision rested with her alone and though her mind might be driven by the mating lust, she still knew how important of a decision it was.
Reaching the top of her arc, she shot downwards, going into a dizzying spiral. Even though her feet were planted firmly on the ground, Cybele felt as though the breath was being driven from her lungs. Chandrath sped past as the males tried to correct themselves, but then just as quickly, her wings billowed on another thermal and she shot back up into the darkening air. The dim light made both pursued and pursuer harder to see. The Gold knew it must end before full dark, it was time to narrow down her choices.

Kiyoni had been passing the time in their bedroom by cleaning Elliwodth's straps. She knew it was an odd thing to be doing, but it helped her keep her mind straight as she waited for her mate's return. This would be the first gold flight that she would actually be able to spend with someone she truly loved.
The green rider grinned up at her mate as he pulled her into his arms. She wrapped her arms around him as his fingers ran through her hair. "Hello," she said, already sounding a bit breathless from the effects of the flight that she hadn't tried to fight.
~~~
T'tarel opened his eyes and watched B'ren and G'rett. A part of him turned a bit jealous while the other part wanted to protect Cybele's honor. Instead he just contented himself with keeping his mind glued to what Reloith was doing. If Chandrath saw fit to pick Reloith then T'tarel would be able to show Cybele his true feelings for her.
Reloith watched Chandrath with amusement. He could see that the glittering gold wasn't impressed by their tries at wooing her. Well, the bronze could remedy that. He'd just show her what he could do while flying. See if that impressed her at all. The bronze rumbled in amusement as Chandrath watched them upset down. She was definitely very nimble and graceful.
Reloith tried to gauge what her next move would be. She was tricky and not easy to read, but he wasn't going to give up. He knew T'tarel's feelings about the Weyrwoman and he was going to push himself until he couldn't anymore. He nearly lost sight of her as she flew up and then dove down, but Reloith quickly corrected himself. He wasn't able to perform quite the spiral that she did, but he did pull off a roll as he got himself righted and dove after her. He wasn't about to lose her. The bronze spread his great wings a bit to catch a good thermal and allow him to dive farther down. He knew Chandrath would pull up before any of them were too close to the ground. And he was right, Chandrath soon dove up through them and Reloith spun on his tail to chase her back up into the darkening clouds. Of course in his opinion the setting sun only made Chandrath glow more brightly and lovely.
V'zee's double vision showed that of Cybele pushing the two riders away from her with a playful tone to her voice. He had never been one to force the decision of the riders that his dragon chased theirs. Kyanath liked to play, but he played hard. Clean up until the choice was made before he gave up his chase. The little bronze had energy to burn in every flight he took part in. He allowed a smirk to tug at his lips as he watched the display before him, then he was soaring with his little bronze once again into the darkening skies, keeping a slight awareness of what was going on in the room he was grounded in.
Kyanath was watching Chandrath even more closely as she did not return a single compliment or promise toward any that chased her and so he would keep himself quiet now. Obviously she wanted more action than talk and he was all action whenever the time called for it. This was definitely one of those times. As the golden beauty ahead of him started a loop upward and backward, he began a turn to keep himself facing her when she shot for the ground again. With a merry bugle of excitement, he dove after her with less of the mind blowing speed he had shown before. It was growing darker and only the glowing of her hide gave way to where she was and he guessed that she would not be going as far as the ground again. He was almost certain of that, but he still chased with as much speed as he could muster without a roll this time.
V'zee moved enough to react to the sudden dive of his lifemate and smiled as his bronze followed Chandrath's sudden rise upward, managing a move he never thought was possible as Kyanath spun about on a wingtip to nearly slingshot himself onto the same thermal that Chandrath had just caught, the little bronze losing speed as he tried to avoid the other males that were getting hard to see and continuing his chasing as quickly as he possibly could. He would rest well after this chase!
*************
After a few moments, Vikki realized that he was not helping to cheer up Randy and so went to a better subject, buzzing about her head, helping her try to tidy things when actually he was succeeding in the opposite task of making more of a mess for her to pick up. Would it work? She always liked it when he played like this...
Both the Wingleader and the Brown Rider could only grin when Cybele teased them both, having pushed them away briefly. It was B'ren who spoke first. "Just wanted to give you a sample, lovely Weyrwoman," the scoundrel thickened the brogue in his voice, winking at her. G'rett said nothing, a smirk coming to his lips. Words were useless as of this point in time; it would be simply a matter of Chandrath choosing her mate when she grew tired. Still, to steal a kiss like that from Cybele was well worth the effort.
Chiath watched as his competition all tried to compensate for the latest trick employed by the Gold - a loop followed by a downward spiral to race past the males, then rising up again. The Brown snorted, banking hard to the right and beat his wings to put some distance between him and the others, rising slowly but steadily in Chandrath's wake. Coth, likewise banked but in the opposite direction of the Brown, but the Bronze was a tad slower than his counterpart. Roaring his frustration, Coth quickly looked for a rising thermal and found one, just to the right of the one Chandrath took. Narrowing his eyes and baring his teeth in a carnivore grin, the mighty Bronze spread his wings to catch the heated air and shot skyward, giving him a burst of added speed to narrow the gap between him and his prize.
--------------------------------------------------------------
((to Kia and Lyrensa))
C'olt grinned when Kia greeted him, kissing him on the lips. He embraced his lover with a strong hug, returning her kiss but was careful not to crush her since she was one of two women carrying his child. "Hey yourself," he replied, winking at her. "I was wondering if you wouldn't mind accompanying me to check on Lyrensa. You and I are used to Goldflights, but I don't think she knows how to handle it." He didn't have to mention that his fellow Healer was the other woman whom was carrying his child; C'olt, Kia, and Lyrensa all knew the consequences of that night of the Hatching Feast, when the three of them slipped away to Kia's weyr and wound up in a drunken threesome. It was only right of C'olt to take full responsibility for his actions, and once he and Kia graduated he would ask if she was willing to live together, then hopefully bring in Lyrensa once she graduated. C'olt wanted to have both of his lovers close for two reasons: the first being to help keep a close eye on his children as soon as they were born, and the other because he loved both women equally.
--------------------------------------------------------------
((to Mia))
C'pher made his way to Mia's personal quarters, not wanting to waste any more time. Once he reached his destination, he knocked on the entryway and waited.
---------------------------------------------------------------
((to Calyssa))
Calyssa's arms were wrapped around his neck, and J'sen's arms were wrapped around her waist. He held the kiss for as long as he could until he felt the need to come up for air. Looking deeply into the young woman's eyes, the young sailor took her hand into his, leading her a good distance away from everyone else. Although it wasn't exactly isolated nor private, part of J'sen's mind supposed anyone looking in this direction would have to come closer to make out any details.
He supposed he'd have to get used to a certain hardening bulge in his breeches. But the sheer sight of Calyssa - his future weyrmate - was only adding to that lust. J'sen discarded his boots, then reached for the hem of Calyssa's tunic, wanting to slide it up and over the young woman's head. If she was wearing anything underneath, well...that would be coming off, too. He wanted Calyssa to help him with his own tunic and breeches, to expose his flesh to the air so she could look at him while he could look at her in all of her glory.
It was difficult to find the words, but when they did come, they were low and husky. "You are my love," he said. "You are my weyrmate, my one and only."
{{To J'sen}}
Calyssa let him lead her toward the other end of the lake. She had actually forgotten about K'von even being there. She was too caught up in feelings that she had never experienced before thanks to the gold flight going on. Although she liked the feelings coursing through her.
The young red rider moved her arms to allow J'sen to remove her tunic. She was too caught up in flight lust to really think about what was going on. Or even to be scared of what was soon to happen. She smiled up at him, her cheeks flushed a bright red.
"And you're the only for me," she said breathlessly.
~~~
Randy actually smiled as Vikki tried to "help" clean up the weyr. At least it allowed her to take her mind off the flight. Anything to not think about V'zee worked for her. Ransk watched quietly as Randy tidied up after Vikki.

The sound of Cybele's voice took M'lym's attention back to what was going on in front of him. He scowled at the two riders who were making their moves on Cybele, and he stepped closer to the Goldrider. He didn't like seeing anyone else that close to the Weyrwoman. The possessive feeling passed through the link between rider and dragon, and Iverasth roared, putting on a burst of speed. He was more determined than ever to catch Chandrath.
A gold streak shot past him and Iverasth corrected himself quickly, darting after Chandrath as nimbly as a big, bulky bronze could manage. He was riding high on his rider's energy now, even as his wings were beginning to ache from the effort. No cocky young bronze and no brown were going to steal his Queen if he had anything to say about it.
***
((To C'olt/Lyrensa))
Kia pursed her lips and crossed her arms when C'olt mentioned Lyrensa. She had really been hoping that they could spend the aftermath of the Flight together, alone. She knew she would be able to control herself, but maybe she didn't want to.
"Won't Lyrensa be okay in the barracks?" she asked sourly, but she knew that C'olt wasn't likely to relent, and she definitely wasn't going to let C'olt go off on his own right now. Even if he didn't get to Lyrensa, who knew what floozies were waiting in the Weyrbowl to pounce on the handsome Greenrider when the Flight ended. "I suppose we could go check on her, but how about we come back here afterward?" she suggested.
((to M'thos))
E'lon smiled, picturing the slumbering green in his head. "She went to sleep right away, and she's still out completely," he told the blue weyrling with a small chuckle. "I'm guessing the same is true of Silvanuth."
He tightened his hand on his wine skin self-consciously. It almost felt like the feelings from the Flight were going stronger, maybe because it was close to the end. M'thos was cute, he rode blue, and most importantly, he was here. E'lon wasn't sure how long he wanted to waste on polite conversation, especially if he wouldn't be able to control himself after the final burst of emotions when the winner was chosen. "M'thos...would you like to stay with me after the Flight?" he asked bluntly. At least this way, they would each know exactly what the other wanted.

Aylinth crooned softly as he nuzzled her, closing her eyes and lifting her head to the skies with immense satisfaction. She watched the bronze curiously as he lay down most ungracefully and then rolled over, an odd warble escaping her maw. He was a most strange one to be sure. She arched her neck so as to better see him, nostrils flaring gently. Sand was displaced by his motions, flying to hit her lightly on the flank. She snorted and pawed lightly at the sand. After a moment of consideration, she rolled so that one side was completely flat on the sands.
Toniel's smile widened slightly as she watched Aylinth and Demnoth. The bronze was acting much a runner rolling in the dirt and Aylinth was very much the prissy fancy-bred runner who didn't dare act so silly. She nodded in agreement with Q'del, noticing the uneasiness that seemed to briefly dance on his features. Idly she wondered what he was thinking, but if he wanted her to now, he would have told her, so it was an easy matter to dismiss the notion. "Thank you," she said, quite a bit more warmth in her tone than usual. Like it or not, there was a fondness for Q'del developing within her, though she would not have recognized or admitted it. "How are you healing?" she asked politely, though a flutter in her stomach said that it was more than professional interest in his well-being.

Chandrath watched the males correct themselves as she soared higher. Most of them had reacted more quickly than she'd expected, which was both pleasing and infuriating. None had been driven towards a mistake yet. She veered hard to the left and down, gathering speed with gravity before twisting into another barrel roll. Quickly then she executed a haripin turn, then a half loop which again reversed her direction. Then she folded her wings, causing her to drop like a stone.
Cybele could feel the air rush by and her heart fluttered in her chest with exultation. She almost didn't hear B'ren's comment. That scoundrel, everyone knew he was practically married to Tanly...but no matter, the Weyrwoman was too preoccupied with Chandrath to pay it much mind. The Queen billowed her wings and shot upwards again, looking down to see how the males were faring.

Demnoth rolled back onto his belly after a moment, seeming to either not notice or not care that he was covered in sand. I'm sorry if I got sand on you Aylinth. It just feels so good on my hide. You should try it!
Q'del nearly snorted with laughter at the though of the dignified Gold rolling on the ground like a canine. Turning his attention back to Toniel, he was touched by the look of concern on her face. He shrugged, lifting his shirt to reveal the bandage and ugly bruise on his side. "Sore mostly. Its frustrating to have to take everything slow. But the healers say everything is as it should be. We were lucky that injuries are all we have to show. I am glad to have come home safe," he said, imparting as much meaning as he could, his gray eyes intense.

M'thos gulped, torn by a maelstrom of competing emotions. In the Holds, men who consorted with men were not tolerated like they were at the weyr, so his inborn prejudices were telling him to stay away. But E'lon was quite cute really, and M'thos knew now that, riding a blue, he'd be as much likely to sleep with men as women if Sylvanuth chased. It would be good this one time, to have done it by choise. He didn't want his first time to be with some random person...at least he knew E'lon. Plus the burning in his veins had become more prominent. He wondered what his sister would have said. He could almost see her face...Then he smiled. "Yes...I..I think I would." He was still afraid, but at the same time, he felt a strange thrill.

The tingling of the mating lust which had been held at bay now erupted into new life as Arktos held his weyrmate. He smiled down on her, pulling her tightly against him before emitting a grunt of pain. He had a broken right collar bone and a cracked left tibia...luckily the non-weight bearing bone in his leg, though it still hurts. He also sported a healthy collection of bumps, cuts and bruises, including a cut on his left forearm that had required stitches. In any case, his tight embrace of Kiyoni has caused his collarbone to grind painfully. He relaxed his grip, but compensated by kissing her on the lips, gently at first. "You are feeling all right?" he asked huskily.

Reloith tried to judge Chandrath's next move. The Queen was exceeding tricky which didn't bother Reloith. The bronze enjoyed the chase. Even if he lost he could say he gave it his all. Which he would gladly do for Chandrath. He had liked the gold even before her flight and now he wanted to prove to her that he was a competent flier. The bronze rumbled in amusement as she did another barrel roll before folding her wings and taking another tight turn that it didn't seem like a gold should be able to do. Reloith wasn't able to make quite the hairpin turn she did, but he spun on his tail and was soon in the right direction again. He folded his wings to his back, following Chandrath down. He knew she would have to come up, but he didn't want to chance losing her. Instead, the bronze kept close, but above her as well. Maybe he could get close to her that way.
T'tarel shuttered as he watched his bronze. his blood was running fast through his veins. He took a second to look over at Cybele. He liked the Weyrwoman a lot, but her and her gold had choice here. No matter what happened, he would there if she needed a shoulder or just a friend to talk to.

Kiyoni relaxed in her mate's embrace. She tensed when she remembered all of his injuries and looked up at him, her eyes showing desire but worry as well. "I'm okay," she whispered. She hadn't fared quite as badly as her mate. She had two cracked ribs and a sprained ankle that was getting better fast. Cuts, scrapes, and bruises were evident just about everywhere, but they didn't hurt too badly. Her ribs were probably the worst. "Are you okay though?" she whispered before leaning into his kiss.

Eponath was deeply asleep by the time Cheriss began her wandering. Her feet just could not keep still. Her long fingers kept fiddling with a hem, or her hair as her feet led her where they wanted to. She paid very little attention to what was going on around her, she was that deep in thought.
Her very skin was itchy, almost as if she needed an oiling much like her beloved Eponath. Her long skirt both was irritating and soothing at the same time. Each gentle step sent the skirt swishing, teasing. If Cheriss had been paying more attention to herself, to the signals her body was sending she would know what was going on. Sadly the tomboy had no clue. She knew she was searching for something, someone, that might ease the discomfort but what it was she wasn't sure. Never mind where.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
D'mar on the other hand knew exactly what was going on. When he knew Sionnth was asleep, D'mar went for the comfort of the kitchens. There he knew what to expect, how to control things. Settling into routine would ease the ache, the green rider knew, but for how long?
This time the feelings, the desire was stronger. His skin felt too tight, even the swish of his hair against his own nape was stirring. The rhythmic stroke of the knife blade against the cutting board made it hard to focus on the actual cutting. Every little nuisance of his once calming chores now seemed to push him farther into the lust. If he wasn't careful he would end up in someone's arms before long. D'mar had to wonder if it was the Queen Flight that was urging him on or his own repressed desires?
