The light of dawn crept slowly into the Weyrwoman's Weyr, spilling through the open curtains of the ledge and over the sleeping bodies of the two dragons sleeping there. It flowed past the desk strewn with papers and the sleeping body of the silver firelizard in the corner before striking the face of the woman in the bed. Cybele woke with a start and peered around the room..she'd had the strangest dream.
Then her eyes rested on the form of the man lying next to her, his skin golden in the morning light. It was no dream then. A small smile graced her features and she settled back into the furs, wanting to savor the moment. She only hoped T'tarel was as happy about the outcome as she was. There was only one way to find out. She laid a hand on his bare shoulder, hoping not to startle him too badly.

Reloith slept soundly beside Chandrath. The bronze was worn out from his flight, but his tail was curled protectively around the golden beauty next to him. A wing also rested over her back.
T'tarel slept soundly even when the sun his face. It had been a while since he had felt such emotions from a flight. And gold flights were always the most powerful of them all. Although he did move slightly when Cybele touched his shoulder. "Hmm?" he mumbled, opening his crystal eyes partway. He couldn't remember exactly where he was to start with as he tried to wake up fully.

'Shards that man has lovely eyes' was all Cybele could think as T'tarel began to wake. She was speechless for a moment, having not thought out what she might say to him. But then she chided herself inwardly. She was the Weyrwoman, not a blushing virgin for Faranth's sake. "Good morning," she said finally. "I'm sorry to wake you so early, but I really couldn't sleep any longer." And today would be a busy day for them both, unfortunately. Cybele wish she could just shut herself away with T'tarel for a sevenday or two, so they could get to know each other properly before having to face the whole Weyr, but that wasn't the way things worked. It was out of the frying pan and into the fire for the both of them.
"Did you sleep well?" she inquired after a moment with a slightly secretive smile. She certainly had, but considering how they had spent their night it was no wonder. Chandrath had been equally exhausted by her endeavors and it would likely be several hours before she stirred.

T'tarel yawned a little as he became fully awake. Thankfully he had never been one that minded getting up early. He looked over at Cybele's voice, everything quickly slotting itself into place. Reloith had won the flight. So that meant... T'tarel was stunned for a moment as he let that revelation sink in. "Good morning," he said with a bright smile, turning to see her better. "No, it is quite fine," he assured her. "I don't mind getting up early." Although right that minute he would really rather just snuggle back in the furs with her. It was a lot to take in and he wasn't sure if he was ready to face all that just yet.
The young man nodded. "I slept better then I ever have. How about yourself, dear Cybele?" he asked, smiling. He could tell that Reloith wasn't going to wake for a while. And T'tarel wouldn't mind joining him. He would like to get a chance to talk with Cybele some more.

She could see the realization dawning in his eyes and waited for the response with bated breath. And then he smiled, his usual charming smile, and she found herself to smiling back. He hadn't gone running and he didn't look horrified, which was good. Cybele had hoped that she'd be able to have at least a good working relationship with the new Wyerleader, but secretly she had wanted more. She and J'nel had liked each other, well enough even to share a bed outside of Flights but she had always hoped for something deeper, more meaningful. Perhaps she had listened too much to harpers' ballads, but the Weyrwoman wanted love, the kind of love that left you breathless and shaking. Maybe this time...
She dismissed her idle fancies for the moment to concentrate on the man in front of her. "I slept quite well, thank you," she said, the blanket falling from her shoulders as she sat up. There was no point in being shy now, plus Cybele had always had a bit of a playful streak. "Would you like some breakfast?" She was starving, her stomach growling in a most unladylike fashion.

The young man stretched a little. He had slept better then he ever had before, but now things were different. This hadn't just been a normal flight. This had been the Weyrleader's Flight and he hoped to Faranth that he would at least be a decent Weyrleader. But he'd worry about that later. Hopefully when he had time to talk to Cybele. He really really wanted to get to know her better. He had liked her from the start and now that they were together as a working partnership he hoped to get to know her better. But he figured that would come with time.
"Good. I am glad to hear that," he smiled. T'tarel grinned as she sat up, the furs falling from her shoulders. He reached up and playfully ran his fingers down her spine. He chuckled softly. "Breakfast sounds great," he agreed. He was hungry enough to eat a whole herdbeast himself.

His touch tickled and Cybele laughed, wriggling away from him. "All right, I shall order us breakfast, dear Weyrleafer, and then perhaps we should have a bath," she said with an inviting glance. Then, gathering the sheet around her like a royal cloak, she made her way to the desk, tickling Argent awake with a finger.
The silver firelizard yawn delicately and then cheeped an inquiry as her pet scribbled a note on a spare bit of parchment before rolling it up and handing it to her. "Take this to the kitchens, dear heart, and make sure you get something to eat for yourself as well." Argent disappeared from between with a happy chirp.
She picked up a tunic off the floor and dropped it over her head, not wanting to give any of the kitchen staff an eyeful, but due to the smell of the fabric, she realized that it was T'tarel's. She grinned. "Well, I've claimed your shirt, so I guess you'll just have to go shirtless," she said with a wink.

T'tarel chuckled himself at her reaction to his touch. "Mmm, food and a bath with a gorgeous woman, what more could a man ask for?" he asked with a smile, his crystal eyes shining. He liked Cybele's sense of humor and already it seemed easy to get along with her. Of course, he had talked to her on many occasions before this. He grinned as she pulled the sheet around her shoulders while she woke Argent.
"They sure can be handy," he said, watching Argent disappear. He had always been fascinated by the firelizards, but had never procured one for himself.
The Weyrleader grinned. It was going to take some getting used to be calling that. He chuckled as he watched her pick up his shirt. He lay back in the bed with his arms behind his head. "Well, I don't mind going shirtless if you don't mind me running around in just my pants," he said playfully.

Cybele felt the back of her neck go red as T'tarel called her gorgeous, but she couldn't help her pleased smile either. She sat back on th edge of the bed, grinning. "Argent is a big help to me. You should have a firelizard. Perhaps when Argent clutches again, she's due for a Flight fairly soon." She leaned back against his stomach for a moment, enjoying the smell of him as she waited on the kitchen staff to bring their breakfast.
"Mind, goodness no. The oftener you want to go shirtless the better," she said with a sultry wink. Then a knock on the door announced the arrival of the food. Cybele rose and opened the door a bit, grabbing the heavily laden tray and a pitcher of klah and depositing it on the table in the small breakfast nook that was a privilege of rank. "Well they've really out done themselves here. I hope you're really hungry." There were meatrolls, pastries, fruit, cheese, sausages and pretty much everything else.

T'tarel smiled. He hadn't meant to embarrass her, but it was true. In his eyes she was gorgeous. He gently ran his fingers up her arm. "I've always been intrigued by the firelizards I just was never able to get one," he admitted. He nodded with a grin. "I would like that as long as Argent doesn't mind." He knew some of the queens were picky over who got their eggs. T'tarel wrapped his arms around her, wishing they could stay like that for a while.
The new Weyrleader laughed. "I shall keep that in mind and see what I can do," he smiled. He reluctantly moved his arms to allow her to get up and answer the door. T'tarel pulled on his pants as Cybele set the tray down. "Shards, that is a lot of food," he said, looking at the tray. "And it just so happens I am hungry," he grinned.

"I'm sure she wouldn't mind. She's a sweetheart really. Much less demanding than I expected." People had always described firelizards as having personalities similar to a feline, but Argent was far more affectionate and obedient than any of the felines Cybele had ever met.
She seated herself at the table and poured herself a cup of klah, savoring the spicy aroma. Klah was best fresh and this had probably been brewed especially for them. "Well good. But you'd better hurry over here before I get all the good stuff. I got plenty of exercise yesterday and I'm starving," she said with a wink, grabbing a warm pastry and a piece of fruit.
"After our bath, we'll have to get right to work I'm afraid. There's some positions needing filled that I'll want your opinion on. And I'm sure you'll want to talk to Q'del, he's been leading the wings while there was no Weyrleader. But I was thinking I might tell the kitchens to give us a Feast tonight. I think we could use some stress relief." She could only hope this feast didn't have any fistfights.

"I shall take your word for it. I've seen Argent, but I must admit I haven't had the pleasure of getting to know her," he smiled. He liked firelizards though and had a feeling he would be seeing a lot more of Argent now. And Cybele for that matter which made his heart leap.
T'tarel stretched a bit before walking over to the table and sliding into a chair in front of Cybele. "Oh, I think I did too," he chuckled. Last night had been amazing in his opinion. And it appeared that Cybele felt the same. The bronze rider poured himself some klah after Cybele was done.
He nodded. "I was afraid you'd say that," he said with a sigh. He had hoped he'd have some time alone with her, but he had figured that would have to wait. "New positions?" he asked curiously. He was interested to see what she had in mind. "Yes, I think talking to Q'del will be a good idea. And a feast sounds great." Like Cybele he hoped there were no mishaps.

She nodded as she took a bite of sausage, she had an odd weakness for the things and the weyr kitchen often stuffed them with surprising morsels. This was was piping hot and filled with chunks of cheese and peppers, much to her delight. "Yes, well one of Arktos's seconds has retired and now that we've two clutches on the way, G'fal will need some seconds as well. We have several applicants, both need to be females. Also I was thinking of promoting V'zee to wingleader..but in any case, eat first, then bath. We can discuss work later." She wanted to steal away as much of the day for themselves as she could. Finishing the sausage, she grabbed a fresh flaky biscuit and smoothed it with butter and fruit preserves.
"Q'del did a good job, but I think he'll be glad to hand over the bulk of his duties. He's not very ambitious, he's just as madly in love with Toniel as Denoth is with Aylinth," she said with a smile. "I hope they work things out between themselves." The biscuit was polished off quickly and after a few pieces of fruit and cheese, Cybele was feeling quite satisfied. She cradled a cup of klah in her hands and smiled. "Well, I'm just about ready for that bath, how about you?" She'd make sure it was a loong bath.

T'tarel picked up a spiced roll. He couldn't believe all the food that was in front of them. But then again it didn't take him long to finish the spiced roll and pick up one of the rolls filled with cheese and peppers. "Mmm," he mumbled. That definitely hit the spot. The new Weyrleader nodded. "Yes, I think new assistants would be a good idea. So, you already have a couple in mind then?" That would make it a bit easier. And he didn't want to just start making all the decisions. The bronze rider nodded. "He seems like a good wingrider, I'm sure he would be a good leader." He smiled. He didn't mind waiting a bit long to talk about business. He would rather just spend time with Cybele.
He soon finished his own breakfast and sipped on his klah. "Then I will have to get together with Q'del and see what he's been doing." T'tarel hoped he could get this right. He grinned as she mentioned Q'del and Toniel. He hoped they worked things out. He looked up at her question. "A bath sounds like an excellent idea," he agreed with a smile, his crystal eyes dancing.
