As M'lym walked down the hall to Cybele's office, he thought over what he wanted to say. This was just a routine meeting to report on the Wing, but he had some other things he wanted to bring up, too.
He knocked on the door and waited.
((Er, short, but there isn't much to say yet.))

Cybele was a little surprised by the knock on her office door. She wasn't expected anyone specific, but then, as the Weyrwoman, there was always someone who needed to talk to her. She rose and open the door, smiling politely when she saw who it was.
"Oh, M'lym, come in. What can I help you with? I hope nothing is wrong." she said, indicating that he should take a seat. "Everything is going well with your wing? Q'del gave good reports of them last time he watched their drill."

M'lym smiled politely at Cybele when she opened the door. It was a relief to see that she was alone, and not meeting with someone else in her office. It seemed like it was impossible to get a private word with the Weyrwoman sometimes, but that was to be expected. She was a busy woman. Especially now, when all the bronze riders probably wanted to occupy her mind. At least that was what M'lym thought, whether the other riders really had underlying intentions or not.
"Well, there's nothing wrong, per se, at least not with me..." M'lym sat down, patently unaware of how stuck-up that sounded. "The Wing is fine. They've been doing very well," he said proudly, glad to hear that Q'del had approved of his training.
"Actually, I wanted to talk to you about the whole Weyr, not just my Wing. I think we could use a little more, er, discipline. Perhaps a gentle reminder from our Weyrwoman about keeping our tempers in line." He watched Cybele's face closely, gauging her reaction and hoping that she didn't take offense.

Cybele nodded, but she was also smiling. "I assume you're referring to the fight at the Hatching Feast? Well, as I'm sure you're aware, all parties have been spoken too and punished. I'm not sure that it was a problem with weyr discipline, this time at least. Q'del and G'rett have had...differences..shall we say, since Aylinth's flight. And Quindara and Q'del are siblings with their own history. Be that as it may, I see what you mean. We have all been tense, what with the Hatching, and Chandrath also due to rise. And Threadfall is coming as well. But I'm not sure more discipline is what we need.....I think the riders need an outlet for their energies..."

M'lym was relieved to hear that everyone had received some kind of punishment for their actions. It didn't matter what it was, as long as it got the message through. He almost felt a little bad for G'rett, as it was difficult to see a fellow Wingleader in this position, but then he thought back to his son's face at the Feast and it was easy enough to lose his pity.
When Cybele mentioned the riders needing an outlet, he smiled. "Actually, G'rett and I were talking about something like that. I thought we could have some kind of competition between the Wings, maybe some kind of relay race. It would be messier than a food fight, at least."

Cybele nodded. "It would be nice to have something like the spring games. Everyone always gets excited about that, and its good practice for Threadfall, which we sorely need. But the rainy season will soon be upon us, I'm afraid we won't be able to do much outside activities. The riders already hate having to drill in the rain..as I'm sure you're aware," she said with a wry smile. Of course, Threadfall drowned in heavy rain, so they would rarely have to fight in such conditions. But they could hardly not practice at all for that whole time, both riders and dragons would not be ready when Thread began to fall if they'd been idle all winter long.
"But, I do remember an idea Arktos put to me once....I didn't like it at the time. I've always been too afraid of what the Holders would think... But I see now that it is needed, for more than just reasons of protection. i believe we should have a fighting tournament this rainy season. Non-lethal weapons of course, perhaps fists or staves. I'm sure Arktos would be up for organizing it..and perhaps G'rett. It'd give him something to keep him occupied while he waits for Quindara to graduate."
