Lyrensa was dimly aware that she was much warmer than she should have been. And then she felt as if something was on her arm, weighing it down and pinning it. And though her time as a Healer and a Candidate had conditioned her to rising early, she was far from a morning person. She started to sit up, eyes slowly opening, but found that she was indeed rendered immobile. She groaned softly as she settled back down in the furs, blinking to try to figure out her surroundings. At first she panicked. These were not the Candidate Barracks!
Then, she felt a restlessness stirring in the corner of her mind and she remembered. Lyrensa had Impressed! That would mean she was in the Weyrling Barracks. But why couldn't she get up? The gray weyrling tilted her head to the side to investigate...and stopped breathing. She recognized the long, tousled blond locks immediately, especially since she had been so fascinated with them last night at the Hatching. Very quickly she became aware of her naked body, covered only by the sleeping furs. How the two of them managed to fit on a cot was beyond her, but then she realized they were laying on a dragon couch. Wait...this wasn't the Weyrling Barracks, either.
Oh Faranth, what had she done?

Kia's head hurt, but the rest of her felt fine. Better than fine. Completely satisfied was more like it. She opened her eyes and smiled, seeing C'olt's form beside her. Even though they had their difficulties, she was glad to wake up next to him. It was a little weird that they were on a dragon couch, not in bed, but these things happened. It seemed like he was still sleeping, so maybe she would go grab some breakfast to go, then bring it back here. She started to get up, and then she saw what was C'olt's other side.
Kia just stared at Lyrensa, her mouth open a little. Huh? She glanced back down at C'olt, blinking, then turned her gaze back on the gray weyrling. She waited for either her or C'olt to explain what was going on, because she sure didn't know.

The last thing C'olt could remember was Kia convincing him and Lyrensa to come to her weyr instead of the Infirmary. They all had a bit too much to drink, and the Journeyman Healer had successfully managed to pilfer a bottle of wine from the Hatching Feast to keep their own personal party going. C'olt had been fortunate not to be pelted by the flying food in the chaos that ensued after the fistfight, and for once he was grateful.
In spite of feeling like he'd spent an entire three days on a drunken binge, his head hurt. So did the rest of his body, for that matter. Especially his groin. Wait. Why the odd sensation down there? And why was the sensation of furs touching his skin? Furthermore...why was he so warm but the bed was so hard?
His eyes opened up, slowly, and his head turned to the left. There was Kia, looking down at him, first smiling then watching her mouth open in surprise as her eyes indicated there was someone else in bed with them. Normally, he'd be pleased he and Kia were finally starting to work things out. The sight of her naked body towering over him was a lovely sight to behold, but he wasn't sure why the sudden shock. His curiosity getting the better of him, he turned to look into the eyes of an equally-surprised Lyrensa. It didn't take a dimglow to realize what had just happened, and he forced himself to lay his head back down again. He sighed, but knew he had to make light of the current situation.
"Ladies, it seems we had quite the party last night. Although I honestly don't remember how we wound up like this."

As Lyrensa stared at C'olt's still sleeping form, another body stirred from his other side. To say she was shocked was an understatement as the blue weyrling smiled and then their eyes connected. Kia's expression mirrored the surprise she was feeling and within the part of her brain that wasn't too overwhelmed to think, jealousy stabbed at her consciousness. She wasn't possessive like a queenrider, but somehow the thought of Kia sharing their night together dissatisfied her. The two might have gone through weyrling training together, but Lyrensa had known C'olt since he was Searched and had began helping out in the infirmary.
The blond man in question was slowly waking, his head first turning towards Kia. Lyrensa couldn't speak, her mind numbed. If the headache beginning to press at her temples and the fact that they were all naked were any indication, they had had quite a night, undoubtedly spent in each other's arms. Oh Faranth! She'd known this was going to happen. If she hadn't seen him at the feast, she wouldn't have been pulled in so easily! C'olt turned then and looked her in the eye. She had the proverbial deer-in-headlights look. But as a junior weyrling who had just Impressed....she wasn't even supposed to be thinking of anyone that way. Let alone acting on it.
Lyrensa gulped loudly at his words. Fun was one word for it. Guilt started to overcome her, knowing her foolishness could have very well sent Brigith between. She didn't want to lose her lifemate! Especially not so soon after the Hatching! She groaned, her hands coming up to clutch at her head. "What have I done?" she moaned to herself.

Merequith poked his head into the room, eyeing the trio. When can I have my couch back? the blue asked with a snort. Not until I get this sorted out, Kia told him, a bit dismayed to realize that she was in her own weyr. Her first instinct was to just blame C'olt for this, but if they were in her quarters, maybe she had more to do with it than she thought. Too bad she didn't remember a thing. Kia knew that she had a tendency to forget things when she drank too much, but nothing this drastic had ever occurred before.
She opened her mouth to say something in reply to C'olt's lighthearted treatment of the matter, but Lyrensa cut her off with a moan. Kia had almost forgotten how sensitive young dragons were to this kind of thing. "Is Brigith okay?" she asked urgently. If the dragon had been harmed mentally, there would be hell to pay. Kia wouldn't be able to forgive C'olt or herself. "We should have Aromath and Merequith speak to her. It would calm her down," she said. She would deal with her own confusing emotions later, for now they had to make sure the gray was fine.
All of which would probably be easier if they were all dressed. Kia jumped up and ran into her room, finding some clothes on the floor. She quickly pulled on a shirt and pants, then picked up what looked like Lyrensa's gather dress and C'olt's pants. The Healer's shirt was nowhere to be found, and Kia had a feeling it was probably lying somewhere in the weyrbowl. With the clothes in her arms she went back out to the couch. "Here," she said, pushing their respective garments at them.

C'olt rolled over onto his right side, but kept looking at Kia's retreating form and at Lyrensa laying next to him, admiring the beauty of both ladies. Still, they had a point; it was possible they could drastically affect Brigith with their actions, and something had to be done to avoid a potential catastrophe. He sighed, then took Lyrensa's dress and handed it to her before he rose off the dragon couch and slipped on his own breeches. He found his boots, but his doublet was nowhere to be found. Scowling at the loss, C'olt shook his head as he dragged his boots over his feet and ankles.
"Kia, you'll have to escort Lyrensa back to the Weyrling Barracks before first light. G'fal's assistants will probably be on watch, but you should be able to slip past them. Oh, and see if you can find my doublet while you're at it? I think one of you or both of you managed to drag me out of it last night at some point."
Personally, he wished he could remain in the bed with them and spend a leisurely morning, but knew that wouldn't be possible. Still, this would be one of his more memorable experiences - waking up between a gorgeous blonde and an equally lovely brunette. He couldn't ask for anything more, but still his lack of knowing what exactly happened nagged at him. "If either of you start to exhibit signs of illness or a serious hangover, come to the Infirmary at once. I'll get one of the younger girls to examine you, if that will make you a bit more comfortable. In the meantime, Kia's right. We'll need to make sure Brigith isn't affected by what's happened between the three of us."

Distress was evident in every part of Lyrensa's lean body. At Kia's question, tormented eyes were turned towards her. "She's not awake yet," she said in a pained tone. She knew the young dragon was still there; she could feel the fitful sleep of the weyrling in the back of her mind. How strange that bond was. It was like she were filled to the brim with warm klah, complete, and the voice of her dragon was like her own thoughts but...farther away? The phenomenon was strange and it made Lyrensa once again consider specializing in Mindhealing when she received her journeywoman's knots to see if she could gain some objective information on the matter.
"That might not be a bad idea," she responded to the senior weyrling's suggestion. She didn't yet know Brigith that well. She didn't know if she might be more understanding of the emotions or if the sensations would have frightened or confused her. As C'olt handed her her dress, she accepted it, waiting until both of the others had turned away to do their own dressing before she slipped into the garment.
C'olt's idea to have Kia escort Lyrensa back was a good one, even if she did feel far more comfortable around her fellow healer. If a man took her to the barracks, it would be suspicious, while the company of a female could simply mean that a couple of friends had laughed and boozed all night long. Of course, Kia was a bluerider...No. She had to stay positive. If she thought that she'd be caught, she would be. Confidence was key. She grimaced a little at the mention of C'olt's doublet. Oh this was embarrassing. What if someone had seen them? The shirt had to have been removed on the ledge if it was no longer in the weyr. That meant someone might have seen their actions, maybe keeping the shirt as evidence.
What if they blackmailed her? Or C'olt? Or Kia? She wasn't sure what might be in it for someone else, as she was just an apprentice healer. But the thought was in Lyrensa's head and she couldn't shake it loose. She shot C'olt a panicked look as he mentioned signs of illness. Another moan tore out of her throat. If she had done anything...especially stupid, there were some pretty serious consequences to that. What if...what if she were to get pregnant? The pregnancy itself was not a major issue, as she already had her four-turn-old son. But a pregnancy when she was just a weyrling, not even a senior weyrling, could cause some problems.
Lyrensa? Lyrensa where are you? called the gray, having just awoken to find her bonded absent. The gray weyrling's face paled. "She's awake," she said, her voice nearly a squeak. It's okay, she attempted to soothe, but she knew she wouldn't be that convincing. I'll be there soon, ok? Oh shells, oh shells, oh shells! What is wrong, Lyrensa? You are upset. I do not like it when you are upset.

"I'll keep an eye out for it," Kia told C'olt, rolling her eyes. Was he seriously worried about his doublet right now? The idea of blackmailing didn't occur to her, maybe because it didn't really matter if she had been seen with C'olt. She could get in trouble for putting a weyrling in danger, but being a woman, she was less likely to be blamed for it.
"Come on, Lyrensa, let's go," she said, putting a hand on the woman's forearm to reassure her. Even though part of her was a little jealous that the weyrling had shared her time with C'olt, right now she just felt bad for Lyrensa. She had to be scared with her dragon in danger like that. "She's probably just worried because you aren't there. I think if she was more panicked than that, you would know it," she added.

C'olt turned away for a moment, but caught sight of Lyrensa as she slid into her dress. He couldn't help but marvel at the curves of her body, so similar yet so different from Kia's. He just wished he knew what had happened between the three of them. However, he couldn't resist smirking at Kia rolling her eyes at him when she told him she would keep an eye out for his doublet. Somehow, he had the feeling she would actually keep it and taunt him with it, just to get him to grovel at her feet. If that's what he had to do, well...he might as well play along.
Speaking of, Kia put a hand on Lyrensa's forearm to reassure her and to get her moving. He honestly didn't know how the two ladies would hit it off with each other, but he sincerely hoped they wouldn't go so far as to fight over him. Although C'olt knew Kia's Merequith just might be the type of Blue who wouldn't mind Chasing his Aromath and Lyrensa's Brigith once she Rose. Sure, it would be at different times when the Green and the Gray Rose. It would be interesting indeed to see how that latter scenario would play itself out, and he wondered how he could get himself into the middle of it should that happen.
He shrugged, then spoke up. "Brigith's probably wondering where you are right about now. I'm sure she'll calm down once she sees you. Which reminds me, I need to go check on Aromath." He sketched a mock salute at the ladies, then gave them both a playful, roguish grin. "I'll see you two later."

Lyrensa nodded to Kia, grateful for the other woman's comfort, even though she hardly knew her and this was no way to become familiar with someone. Or at least not the way she preferred. She cast a hasty glance around to make sure she hadn't forgotten anything. I'm coming down, Brigith. I will explain everything to you soon. Just please stay calm, she reassured, but she wasn't sure how much of it benefited Brigith instead of herself.
Lyrensa looked at C'olt as he spoke. "I hope so," she replied. She was a little dismayed at how lightly he played off the whole situation. But then, what else could you do? The Healer watched as C'olt left to go see to Aromath and then followed Kia to the ledge.
