physical description: Cybele is small, and delicate looking despite her efforts to gain muscle. She has long, wavy black hair which sets off her milk pale skin. Her clear blue eyes are wide and fringed with long dark lashes. She has a small narrow and slightly upturned nose and a small mouth with full lips. Her chin is quite pointed. Though she is still beautiful, her face has become slightly lined with worry of late.
She has a slight frame with barely anything in the way of curves, but there's nothing masculine about her either. She doesn't wear much in the way of jewelry and doesn't much like dressing up eithers, she's most comfortable in her riding leathers. But she likes blue, gray, and green, and if she has to dress nicely, she goes for light wispy fabrics.
personality: Cybele is a strong-willed, no-nonsense sort of person. She is willing to compromise with others, but only if they are in the best interests of the weyr. She doesn't take kindly to shirking or whining. The Weyrwoman has a definite charisma about her, and is a stirring orator. She gets people to do what she wants them to do with naught but gentle prodding and a steely gaze, having the sort of personality that conveys just as much in facial expression and body language as most people do with words. She drives herself as hard as anyone else, and often neglects her own needs ahead of Chandrath's or the weyr's. She's definitely a worrier.
But she's not all gristle and determination. She loves children, and makes frequent visits to the weyr creche, and not even to see only her own children. She has a lot of compassion and does well with the sick and injured, as long as she doesn't think they're faking it. She's good at giving praise out when its due, it just takes a lot to impress her. She does have a temper, but she never yells, she just gives you the look of disappointment, which is somehow worse than yelling. She also has a soft spot for firelizards and would probably have a whole fair if Chandrath didn't keep her so busy. She has an intellectual bent, and loves studying the records, and reading. She also loves music and dancing and is not shy. She's a passionate woman in all respects, with ideas and with lovers, but it can make her stubborn sometimes.
history: Cybele was born the result of a Goldflight pairing between a bluerider and a Healer, before the years of Cloudlung. Her parents decided that she would remain at the weyr, since dragonrider children were always needed to Stand as Candidates. She was just a child when Cloudlung hit the weyr and she still remembers to constant keening of dragons, and the grief that rocked the weyr upon the death of the two junior Queens, Creeleth and Ophelath. Her older sister, a greenrider named Nellion, also died when Cybele was fifteen. Cybele did not know her mother until she was an adult, but she saw her father infrequently and had a good relationship with her younger half-brother Belengal. They both wanted to be dragonriders, but they were encouraged to take up a Craft, just in case. Cybele chose to be a Harper, and she made it to sr. apprentice before she, to her father's lasting surprise and pride, Impressed Gold Chandrath at old Wilyenth's last Hatching, when she was eighteen Turns. Both Wilyenth and her rider were quite old and once they had finished her training, they retired, allowing Cybele to become Weyrwoman at age 20.
J'nel and his bronze Fenneleth caught her on her maiden flight and have been together ever since. Though they made not have had a great love, they had a good partnership, and they genuinely liked each other. They even had two children, which are being raised by the creche. Their last mating Flight even produced a new Gold Egg, producing a sigh of relief across Pern, since Wilynath's rider had died three Turns before. It Hatched in Gold Aylinth. But J'nel was fifteen turns older than his weyrmate. She always expected him to die before her, but neither expected it to happen quite so soon. Even Cybele was surprised how much his death rocked her and she was slow in recovering. She bought a firelizard egg fro a trader a few Turns ago and it hatched into one of the first off-color fireliards in the Wyer. Argent has been a good source of support for both Cybele and Chandrath in their time of grief. Neither are really looking forward to their upcoming mating flight, though Cybele hies that perhaps the new Weyrleader will be someone she will find a good partner in.

She's considered to be an especially beautiful gold, for she is slender, supple and graceful in both body and limb, thought slightly mottled in spots of darker gold. She is fairly large in size and the weyr has high hopes for the dragonets she will produce.
personailty: The Senior Queen is a thoughtful, quiet and intuitive dragon with a somewhat mysterious natures. She has a flair for the dramatic and tends to speak cryptically and often somewhat poetic, to the exasperation of her rider. She isn't a flirt at all, but does like the company of other dragons, though she tends to favor companionable silence to gossip. She's very nurturing and maternal, but can be moody and easily depressed, especially since the death of her mate. But her moods seem to have cycles and after a few days of moping she'll be bright and happy again.
