The long, sleek, dark form of Haydeth lay mostly submerged in the lake water, his long, slender wings floating on the surface while his long, whip-like tail created a serpent’s swimming look behind him, his multi-faceted eyes the only thing to be seen of his head or neck as he studied the shadowy green that splashed gracefully closer to shore, his clutchmate as well as his rider’s brother’s dragon. Pup barked merrily as the greenriding brother tossed a rag ball for him to fetch, running along the shoreline, dripping water from his bushy coat. K’mik wore a broad smile as he watched, waiting for his brown to be done getting wet so that they could begin scrubbing the two dragons for Gemith loved the company of her rider’s brother’s dragon at bath time.
Finally, Haydeth slithered his way back to shore, remaining submerged as long as he possibly could before standing and walking the rest of the way to his rider. Pup splashed about, settling in for swimming about the two dragons and their riders, waiting for one to throw his ball for him. Finally succeeding, he chased the ball ashore, getting a passerby wet with the water that flung from his thick coat as he bounded after the ball.

Kikaya was quietly walking around the Bowl. Ralith padded along at her shoulder. The girl kept a close eye on her gray, wondering if she would rise soon. She still wasn't sure if she was ready for that. Although she really didn't have a choice, so she would have to be.
Look. Let's go say hi, the gray said excitedly, changing directions and heading for the lake where a green and brown dragon were.
Kikaya hurried after her dragon. "Ralith! Wait!" she pleaded with her dragon, not wanting to get in trouble. She wasn't quite sure who the dragons were yet. She was still learning everyone.

Pup zipped past the gray dragon, hardly seeming to notice her, water drops flying still. He had long ago grown used to the huge beasts and they did not even intimidate him in the least any more. Catching his ball finally, he turned and raced back to the two riders and the dragons in the lake waters, passing by the gray dragon without a worry in the world as he knew his intentions.
It was Haydeth that noticed the dragon coming toward them, his dark head turning about to watch the gray approach them. He said not a word, but the tensing of his muscles beneath his lean hide told his rider that someone was approaching them. K’mik paused in the beginning of his scrubbing to follow his dragon’s gaze and smiled. “K’kaar, we got company!” he said cheerily as the gray looked to be heading straight for them and her rider, he presumed, was running after her.
K’kaar turned from where he was currently soaping up his scrub brush to see the newcomer and smiled. “One of the new riders. You met ‘er yet, K’mik?” he asked curiously, knowing that she had not been placed in his wing. He was still trying to get to know them all even though their numbers had been small. They were scattered throughout their ranks and a handful of them were still learning things from the WeyrlingMasters.

Ralith slid to a stop just before she got to the lake. The gray crooned a greeting. Hello! I'm Ralith, she said cheerily. Unlike her rider, she had nothing against making new friends. As long as they weren't out to hurt her rider.
Kikaya's face flushed. "I am so sorry," she apologized to the two riders. They looked familiar, but she couldn't place their names. Of course she was still bad with names and didn't know that many people yet if she was honest. She hoped her gray hadn't disturbed them though. That would be awful.
