Tanly pulled out a loose shirt and skirt. She wasn't normally one to wear a skirt or dress of any kind, but now that she was a few months pregnant a few of her pants were starting to feel tight. And today was one of those days that everything felt too tight or too big. She sighed in frustration as she tied up the shirt.
"Well, I guess this will have to do," she mumbled to herself, straightening out the skirt and top. She unbraided her hair and ran a brush through it, debating on leaving it down or pulling it back up.

B'ren's mind was focused on one thing and one thing only - what to do for the Turn's End Gather. For once it wasn't focused on having his way with his weyrmate under the furs, which was a surprise in of itself. The Gather wasn't far off, and B'ren was deciding on hosting a dragon poker table or if he should act a fool and perform. Probably both, but he still needed to talk with C'olt, C'pher, and G'rett. Probably pull in that Bronze Weyrling, J'sen. The poor boy had been through between and back, having suffered the loss of a baby with Calyssa. The Brown Rider genuinely felt sorry for the young couple, but he wanted to help J'sen lift Calyssa's spirits. As for one of the new Candidates - Mordecai - B'ren was quick to notice the young Harper was smitten with another Candidate, Tara. Perhaps bring the boy in on the conspiracy?
Clad only in a pair of breeches, he heard Tanly mutter about her clothing, and looked in that direction. She had laced up her shirt and was now straightening out her skirt, and B'ren knew Tanly wasn't one to wear loose clothing like that. She preferred more form-fitting clothes, but her pregnancy prevented that for the most part. Silently, the scoundrel padded over to where Tanly was standing and merely wrapped his arms around her waist and belly, kissing her on the back of her neck before resting his chin on her right shoulder. "Problem, love?" he asked.

Tanly was getting a bit frustrated. It was one of those days that nothing was going right for her. She felt huge and nothing was fitting properly. She couldn't even get her hair to cooperate. She sighed softly. She really was thrilled about being pregnant, although she still wondered how B'ren would actually react once the little one was born. But now was not the time to worry about that. It would just make her depressed and she didn't need that right now. She wanted to be happy.
She smoothed her hand over her skirt. Wearing a loose skirt still made it so she could hide the fact that she was pregnant. Although she wasn't sure if she really wanted to hide it anymore. She knew of a couple others that were pregnant and had heard about Calyssa and J'sen. That had to have been awful for the two teenagers. Tanly jumped a little in surprise, but shivered at his gentle kiss. "Not really. I'm just not liking wearing such loose clothing," she said quietly.

A throaty chuckle escaped the scoundrel's lips when Tanly complained about having the need to wear loose clothing, his lips still leaving lingering kisses on the back of her neck. "You look fine," B'ren said reassuringly. "In fact, you still look as lovely as the day I met you." He pressed in a bit closer, relishing the feel of her body next to his in spite of the fabric that separated them, and lightly rubbed at her belly before nibbling at her left earlobe. "Every bit of you. But you needn't worry, love. After the baby gets here, you can go back to wearing more form-fitting clothing if you like. Although you know me; there shouldn't be any such inhibitions when we're alone like this." He, of course, was only half-teasing; B'ren could care less if he and Tanly walked around in their own Weyr without a stitch of clothing on. It was, after all, their shared home and private retreat from prying eyes.
B'ren reached down to take Tanly's hand into his, and laced his fingers through hers. He could tell she was getting frustrated at how she looked, how it bothered her so. Perhaps it was time to share the news with everyone else; that they were expecting. "Come," B'ren said softly. "Trouble me with what really bothers you. There's no shame in telling everyone you and I are about to take the next step in our lives together, as parents. But if you feel like you need to make yourself a bit more presentable...I think we can find a winning hand in the cards this time."

Tanly shivered slightly at his light kisses. He was always able to do that to her, make her forget what was bothering her. She sighed softly. "I feel like I'm wearing a fur." She wasn't used to wearing dresses or skirts, so this was a new feeling to her. Her face flushed at his compliment. She didn't feel very pretty at the moment. Actually, she felt fat and ugly, but she didn't want to say that. She gasped softly at his light touch and the feel of him nibbling on her ear. Tanly leaned back against his chest and had to laugh. "I'm sure you wouldn't mind us walking around like that," she teased softly. At the moment that didn't sound like a bad idea. At least she wouldn't have to worry about how she looked for a bit.
She gave his hand a light squeeze. Having him close to her she felt like she could handle anything. Tanly looked over her shoulder and her eyes widened. "You honestly wouldn't mind letting everyone know that you're going to be a father?" she asked softly. She had been worried that he wouldn't want to let anyone know, but since he had suggested it she didn't feel as bad.

B'ren grinned when Tanly teased him about walking around in their home without a stitch of clothing, and he exaggerated his nod. "You're beautiful either way," he teased back, but he meant it. "I think C'olt mentioned something about pregnancy lending a 'glow' to a woman, and I have to agree with him. You certainly have it." His fingers continued to lightly brush against the fabric, eventually working their way underneath the hem and against her bare skin, now tracing the bump in her belly where their child was. "And no, I wouldn't mind at all to let everyone know I'm giong to be a father. As long as you don't mind letting everyone know you're about to become a mother." B'ren looked at Tanly's reflection in the mirror, his eyes meeting hers. "In fact, I'd like it if we could make the announcement together. I know you'd want to look your absolute best, and I'll even brush your hair for you if you want. Though don't ask me to braid it. I don't do so well at braiding hair."
B'ren smirked at her, then followed it with a teasing grin. "But first things first." Slowly, the scoundrel turned his weyrmate around so she could face him, and he leaned in for a long, slow, sensual kiss, bringing Tanly's arms around his neck and shoulders then sliding his own around her waist. "I think I need to do a bit of convincing that you look absolutely ravishing, love. Pregnant or not. I'm honored to be your weyrmate and the father of our child."

Her face reddened at his compliment. She seemed to blush a lot more since being pregnant. Although she felt better knowing that he didn't think any less of her. Tanly smiled. "Well, I don't know about that, but I know I am happy," she whispered. The green rider gasped in surprise and leaned her head against his shoulder. His touch felt so wonderful and she hoped that soon he would be able to feel the baby. "I would love to have you with me when we let others know." She smiled brightly. "I love the idea of being a mother and having you as my baby's father." Tanly met his eyes and smiled. Her gray eyes were actually dancing even though her cheeks were still flushed. "I would appreciate that. I love the feel of you brushing my hair." She chuckled. "Okay, no braids then."
Tanly let him turn her around, not sure what he had planned. Her eyes widened, but she gave into his kiss, leaning as close as she could. She moaned against his lips. "I think I like the sound of you convincing me," she whispered in his ear.

B'ren reached down and guided Tanly's hands to the waistband of his breeches, then moved his own to the back of Tanly's shirt and teasingly tugged at it, indicating he wanted to follow through on his earlier statement of being completely clothing-free. "Oh darling mine, allow me to demonstrate. After I've...convinced you, I'll brush your hair then. Then we can get dressed and make our formal announcement to everyone." His own body was responding to the closeness of his weyrmate's, his breathing and his heartbeat was slightly elevated, and he knew his own manhood was gradually stiffening. "Come, darling. Our bed awaits. And I promise I'll be gentle on you and our baby both."

The green rider smiled broadly as she let him guide her hands. She could see that he planned on carrying out his idea from earlier. Well, that was just fine with her. Tanly giggled as he tugged her shirt free and she untied his pants. She was definitely enjoying this. "Hmm, it might take a lot of convincing," she warned him, enjoying teasing him. She really just wanted to be with him. Her heart had already picked up its pace. "I definitely like the sound of that," she said, letting him pull her toward their bed. She smiled. "I have no doubt that you'll be gentle with us," she said softly. She knew he wouldn't hurt their baby.
