OOC: This guy's in Kendrall's plot. He'd be WeyrSecond to K'ain if he fits the bill well enough for Kendrall....and I'm not sure if the time jump would change the sizes of the dragons or not.... Nocheth is a large brown for the Benden timeframe he came from...

Physical Description: Standing at only five foot eight inches, Z’zak is hardly the intimidating sort, but his appearance might make one squirm, at least on the inside. He is leanly built and his skin is a very dark, golden tan from countless days in the desert sun. Dull black hair falls to nearly his waist and is always seen in a messy plait, once in a while, detangled and redone. His bangs fall to his chin and are often in his face at some point during the day, obscuring a little of the four scars that cut diagonally across his face from nearly his temple at the top left, through his left eye and ending on the right side of his chin. Though his vision is still clear, the white of his left eye toward the outside is an ugly milky red-white from the scarring of the tissues there, leaving the darkness of his blue eyes untouched. Five more scars run from his right collar bone to the bottom of his rib cage and wrap about the top of his right forearm. Another scar shows in his lower back near his left kidney area and he has a gimp from a scar on either side of his left knee. A tattoo graces his right arm from shoulder to elbow, of a dragon in flight. As for clothing, he is usually seen in sandy-colored browns and on occasion, very dark browns, all well worn and frayed here and there, fitting comfortably to allow him to move quickly when the situation calls for it. His boots have seen better laces, but still serve their purpose well, though they no longer keep out water. Even his flight gear is worn, but in good enough condition to keep him safe from Between’s cold nothingness. He still sports the colorful armbands he wore in his Trader days, though their colors have faded to the point of blending together with the harsh weather he has been in for twenty turns. A bow and arrow are usually within quick reach and a dagger is tied to his left thigh for quick access from either hand, though he is more dominantly left-handed.
Personality: Z’zak is unusual for a brownrider. He is haughty, aggressive, and disrespectful at times. When he speaks, his words are often laced with cussing, showing his discontent with his current lifestyle and it does not matter to whom he is speaking to either. Though he has a temper, he is actually quite patient, often escaping the monotony and bothersome ways of K’ain and the others by disappearing to hunt for food, keeping himself free of the icy confines of their isolation to the rest of Pern. As a matter of fact, he has been patiently waiting for the past fifteen turns for a chance to overtake K’ain and get their small band of dragonriders to a better lifestyle that included civilization, not all of this secretive, secluded stuff he is stuck in. Yes, he still holds strong a grudge against his wingleader for stranding them in this desert twenty turns prior. Aside from his temper, he does show compassion toward others, though he remains hard on them. Life is tough and the only way to survive is to learn well or die. Hardly a soul receives his affections save for his dragon since his jump forward, not even women.
History: Z’zak was born Zipzak to a pair of Benden Territory Traders on Turn’s End of turn 2418. The life of a Trader is all he knew clean up until his Impression. His youthful turns were full of rebellion and quick tempers that resulted in fighting since he could argue, both physically and verbally. He had some sense knocked into him in the summer of his sixteenth turn when a drunken fight at a celebration in Benden Hold landed him bedridden for a month after a stab wound to his lower back near his left kidney. He thought about many things during that frustrating month and realized that he needed to learn to curve his temper.
At seventeen turns, his Caravan had been dropping tithes at Benden Weyr when a blue dragon Searched out the teen. The Hatching happened that evening and his unexpected arrival turned into the Impression of a rather large brown dragonet. Now he had to work with a temper nearly opposite his own. Throughout Weyrlinghood, his temper still got the better of him and fights happened here and there. He managed to clean his act up just enough to be able to graduate and that was when he was placed in K’ain’s wing. Sure, he had a bit of a wake-up call, but his temper stayed, then the mishap happened when he was only nineteen turns…
Life in isolation turned Z’zak around to the feelings of others as he changed a little for the better. He learned to show some compassion toward others and teamwork came just a little easier for him. At twenty-one, he and his dragon had been out scouring the desert for some food, finding a forest that they started nearing. Neither one had been ready for the sudden sandstorm that sent them tumbling into the forest, Nocheth’s huge size snapping trees in two from the impact. The ending result was cuts and scrapes everywhere on both of them, a torn wingsail on Nocheth and a broken branch driven through Z’zak’s left knee and into his dragon’s hide. They were found by the others the next morning after failing to report back to their cold Weyr at the heart of the desert.
At twenty-five, the pair was at it again, both fully recovered and strengths completely restored after four turns. This time, a sandstorm was their savior. Attempting at some wild wherries, the flock suddenly scattered as hungered wild felines went for a bigger meal. The pride might have done more damage than knocking Z’zak from his dragon and leaving deep gashes on the both of them, but the sudden storm scared them off, leaving dragon and rider bleeding and sand blowing into their wounds. This time, they were able to return under their own strength.
The next fifteen turns were spent adjusting further to their new lives, becoming thieves of the small Holds they eventually discovered. When a mysterious disease swept through their group, Z’zak and Nocheth were among the lucky ones to survive it, neither of them getting so much as a cold from it. Z’zak’s old temper has been slowly returning as he is forced to obey K’ain, despite wanting to search more than just the desert sands for others, clinging to a small hope that there might just be others out there.
Now with word of other dragons that were not their own, Z’zak has been waiting for the chance to overthrow K’ain and get the rest of the sane riders among them to the others. The trick was to find out where they were first. So he has been patiently biding his time for an opening, none opening up just yet…

If dragonrider:
Dragon Name: Nocheth
Dragon Age: 22
Dragon Size: 34 feet
Physical Description: Nocheth is a rather large brown at 34 feet in length with a wingspan to match. He is evenly muscled throughout his lean body and moves with calm grace for a dragon. A sandy brown hide with flecks of brighter shading give him a hint of bronze when the sun hits him just right. He matches his rider in scarring with one on his left side that is just beneath where his saddle rests that is rounded in shape. Another set of five scars trail along his right side from just below his saddle toward his hind leg, only going an arm’s length.
Personailty: Nocheth is the opposite of his rider in some ways. He keeps to himself and rarely speaks to another, other dragons included. He is very calm and level-headed, often keeping his rider in check these last fifteen turns to keep him from doing something that would get them both hurt. Like his rider, he is always willing to go anywhere but the icy cave that houses them and at a moment’s thought from His, he is already moving for an exit. Since he and His are often out and about, blending in with the desert sand, his stamina is quite lasting. Just a little flirty with the ladies, he shows unusual excitement at the prospect of new dragons, longing to be back in a Weyr where there are more dragons than one could count. It is these instances when he is most talkative to other dragons.
