There are now ten colors of dragons, whers and flits that have hatched healthy. The Healer Hall believes that each normal draconic color has been replaced by a new color of similar size, but interestingly enough, the sex has been reversed. Hatchlings of the same clutch may be mixed mutant and regular. Lengths are from nose to tail, with the wingspan being approximately the same as the length in dragons and flits and about half the length in whers. Personality descriptions are generalizations only, and vary the most in dragons and the least in firelizards.
Gold- the largest females:
Dragon: 40-45 feet
Wher:17-20 feet
Flit- 30-36 inches
Golds of all species are considered the most strong-willed and intelligent, though of course it varies by individual. In all species, they rise at the age of two and have a mating flight every 1-2 years. Clutches in dragons are from between 15-30 eggs, 10-20 eggs in whers and 12-24 eggs in firelizards. They are usually caught by blacks or bronzes, with the occasional brown. Their clutches can contain any dragon color, and from 0-2 gold/silver eggs. On average, half of a clutch should be composed of greens, blues, grays and whites, 35% reds and browns, 10% bronzes/blacks and 5% golds/silvers. Golds flown by browns lay fewer eggs and produce more smaller colors with golds and silvers being even rarer.
Black-the largest male
Dragon: 40-45 feet
Wher:17-20 feet
Flit- 30-36 inches
Blacks are essentially the male equivalent to golds, and like them are intelligent, though they tend to be on the quiet, protective side, rather than bossy. Can be arrogant and/or territorial.
Bronzes- now the second largest males.
Dragon:35-40 feet
Wher:15-17 feet
Flit-24-30 inches
Coming in every color from green-gold to red-brass, bronzes are the most brave and aggressive color, generally. They also chase golds and silvers, and rarely reds and greens, though they are less likely to win with the smaller colors.
Silver- the second largest females.
Dragon:35-40 feet
Wher:15-17 feet
Flit-24-30 inches
Silvers are vain, and using daring. They are also considered Queens. They begin to rise at the age of 1 year, and rise once a year, slightly more often than Golds. They clutch 10-25 eggs in dragons, 5-15 in whers and 10-20 in firelizards. They can lay golds and and silvers if flown by bronzes or blacks. Silvers are slightly more likely to be caught by browns, and if so they will not lay gold or silver eggs and their bronze/black numbers will be down as well.
Browns- now the third largest males.
dragon:30-35 feet
wher:12-15 feet
flit:21-27 inches
Browns are considered loyal and paternal and generally more steady and placid than the largest males. They can occasionally catch golds and silvers but they are the usual winners of the flights of smaller females, as the larger males have difficulty keeping up with the quick reds, greens, and grays.
Reds- the third largest females.
dragon:30-35 feet
wher:12-15 feet
flit:21-27 inches
Reds are known to be loving and nurturing dragons, having much of the placid natures of their brown counterparts. The rise starting at one year of age and have a Flight every 6-9 months. Their clutches are smaller than the Queens and never contain gold eggs, though if flown by a black or bronze they may rarely get silver, bronze or black. For the red dragon allowed to stop chewing firestone, a clutch would be between 5-15 eggs. Firelizards lay 6-10, and whers 8-12.
Blues- Once the smallest males.
dragon: 25-30 feet
wher: 10-12 feet
firelizard:18-24 inches
Blues are known for their intuition and agility. They are smarter than browns or bronzes on average but not as bright as golds. They often chase, but rarely catch anything larger than a gray.
Grays- females the size of blues.
dragon: 25-30 feet
wher: 10-12 feet
firelizard:18-24 inches
Grays are intelligent like blues, but they trade their intuition for memory. A gray has the best memory of any color, especially in dragons, and they are therefore, good at making long-term plans in a way that many others are not. They rise infrequently, about as often as a gold, or even less so, and do not become mature until the age of eighteen months. Gray dragons must chew firestone, they cannot clutch. Gray firelizards and whers however, can. Their clutches are very small however, even smaller than a greens, being somewhere from 1-4 eggs in flits and 3-6 in whers. They are most often caught by browns and blues, white never appearing to be interested in mating. A gray would never lay anything larger than a brown and even browns and reds would be rare.
Greens- the smallest females
dragon:20-25 feet
wher:7-10 feet
flit:15-18 inches
Greens are known for their amorous natures. They usually rise between the ages of nine months to a year and have a flight about every three months. They are considered the least intelligent dragons, and forget more easily than most. Green dragons are also forced into sterility by chewing firestone. Green flits and whers do lay, but they often forget where they place their nests and are not attentive mothers, their eggs often go cold or are stolen by predators. Whers lay 5-10 eggs and flits 4-8. They would never lay anything larger than a brown or red, and usually only one of either per clutch. They are usually caught by blues and browns.
Whites- the smallest males, some say even smaller than greens.
dragon: 17-25 feet
wher: 5-10 feet
firelizard: 12-18 inches
Whites are just as intelligent than Golds and blacks. (some say more so) They have uncanny intuition and it will be discovered that their timing abilities are extraordinary. However, they are the only mutant color that could be said to be unhealthy in any way. They never show interest in mating. Also, though most whites are about the size of a green, they can get a bit smaller.
