Katleya smiled. "No, I don't mind at all. Gives Az here a chance to stretch his wings. Huh, Az?"
The blue snorted. I don't mind at all. I like flying.
The rider smiled. "Az says he doesn't mind at all." And besides, Katleya didn't want to chance Ranelli getting any sicker. Even with just the short time they were in between she knew it could aggravate a cold and she wasn't willing to chance that. "Alright then, let's go."

Ranelli nodded her agreement and waited for direction as to what to do next, it felt wrong to just take it into her own hands and wonder up towards the dragon - Ranelli was many things, but rude was not one of them, espeically not with the dragonriders, she'd been brought up better than that.
"What brings you to.." she suddenly realised that she didn't actually know where she was, "..this area of pern?" She asked, hoping it didn't sound so obvious..
.."and are you sure you don't mind taking me back to the weyr?" She replied, getting a little nervous - this rider obviously didn't know who she was, but she doubted she'd be so lucky with the others... and what was the weyr like? she'd never been there.. but heard so much, was it really like her mother had always explained?

Katleya started toward Azariaith. She motioned for Ranelli to follow her. Her blue wasn't skittish at all, but she was glad to see that the girl hadn't just run up to him. Actually, Azariaith loved people. The blue hunkered low to make it easier for them to get on.
"Az and I were just out for an enjoyable fly. He needed to stretch his wings," she smiled, bounding onto her blue's back.
"Of course we don't mind," Katleya assured Ranelli, holding her hand down to help the girl up. She didn't know many people who would argue with being allowed to go to the Weyr.

"WEll, i hope i didn't ruin you plans of a leisurely fly" Ranelli responded, her voice a little husky towards the end of her talk. She limped a little as she followed the dragon rider towards her blue, and stood there a while admiring the creature whilst she waited for KAtleya to either get up first, or direct her up instead.

"I'm sure you won't," Katleya assured Ranelli. It was always enjoyable when she was out with her blue. Azariaith snorted softly and lowered his head to gently nuzzle Ranelli without knocking her over. Katleya smiled, but winced when she saw her limping. "Need a hand?" she asked after she got situated and held a hand down to Ranelli. Thankfully Azariaith wasn't real big and he had lowered himself pretty low to the ground to help out.

A wonderful as the dragons were, Ranelli couldn't help but feel a little bit scared of the creature so close up, but she stood her ground, not wanting to show the rider her fear, althogh, when the blue nuzzled her, her body tensed automatically, no dragon on the very few occasions when she'd been lucky enough to ride one had done that, and she wasn't quite sure how to take it, as much as she was appriciative of what the dragon had done.
"Help, would be wonderful, ifyou don't mind.." She replied with a grin, she hadn't done this enough to be good at it, neither was she feeling energetic enough to do this on her own..

Azariaith crooned softly to Ranelli. The blue liked everyone. And he wanted the girl to feel comfortable around them.
Katleya smiled. "Sorry about, Az. He just likes everyone," she explained. Although she had been a bit surprised by Azariaith's reaction to Ranelli. "No problem," she smiled, catching the girl's hand. It wasn't the first time she had had to help someone onto her dragon. Mounting a dragon definitely took practice. She carefully helped Ranelli up and helped her get situated in front of her. "Okay?" she asked.

Even thought she had been uptop a dragon before, sitting astride Katleya's blue was just as elating as the first time, the second time..and the small number of othr times that her mother had taken her a dragonback with her father. "Do you ever get used to the feeling?" She asked, wondering if the dragonrider's still felt the proundness and smugness that she did, even now as a adult of being the one upon a dragon, even as a guest. "...and yes, i'm ready to go.."

Azariaith carefully lifted himself to his full height while he waited for his passengers to get comfortable. Katleya smiled as she watched Ranelli. She never got tired of seeing people's reactions to dragons. The young blue rider shook her head. "Not at all," she answered. "It's still an amazing feeling." She patted her blue's shoulder. "Alright, Az."
Hang on, he told both of them as he spread his wings to take to the air.

There was silence for a moment as Ranelli contemplated the voice that had spoken, a voice that was deffinately not Katleya's ...it had a male quality about it, but she wasn't sure she could count it as Azariath either. Dragons didn't speak to just anyone, and Ranelli certainly wasn't one of those very few people born into the world that could hear and communicate with every dragon.. Although, after a few longer moments of quietness, it eventually dawned on the girl that it could of infact been no one else.. it had to be the blue beneath her legs. Her eyebrows rose uncontrollably as she thought of that fact..and found herself looking at nothing in particular.. and lost for words.. so taken back was she that she didn't notice the dragon spread his wings ready to take flight.. and when the time would come to lift off of the dragon, Ranelli would probably be taken by surprise.

Azariaith gave them a few more seconds to get ready before taking to the air. Katleya hadn't realized that Azariaith had spoken to Ranelli and caught the girl by surprise. Her blue was good at doing that. He was still sneaky at times and she never knew for sure what he was going to do.
"We're going to go between. Are you ready?" she asked Ranelli, not wanting the girl to be caught totally off guard. Between was still a scary thing even when you were used to it. And she didn't figure the girl in front of her was used to it.

Ranelli stiffened. Between!? She'd been there a couple of times in the past, and had never found it enjoyable, she doubted she ever would.. but still, she'd thought they were going to fly straight. Not that she had a say in it, if Katleya wanted to go between and get back to the weyr quicker, than fair enough.. "As ready as i'll ever be.." She answered trying to appear confident, she was too tired to keep this up though and was looking forward to being clean and a bed..
This would be her first time at the weyr itself, what a pity it was in these circumstances! The first impressions of her would not be pretty... she thought grimly to herself..

She's cold, Azariaith reminded his rider.
Katleya's face flushed. How could she had forgotten that? She had told Ranelli they would fly straight so that the girl didn't get chilled. Thanks, Az. She turned back to Ranelli. "My blue has kindly reminded me that I promised you a straight flight. I am sorry," she said. She was just so used to flying straight.
Azariaith carefully took to the air and angled his wings to catch a thermal. He soon leveled out and headed back toward Nova.

Ranelli blushed. "It's okay, it's your choice" Not having to deal with the nothingness that was between every day, Ranelli was uncertain of the dangers of between for those who were injured or unwell. "But flying straight is nicer.." She said as an after thought not wanting to upset Katleya or seem rude and un-appreciative of what the rider was doing for her. "..so much lovely scenery from up here.." She said, looking out - thankfully, flight or heights didn't appear to scare Ranelli too much, or make her uncomfortable.

Katleya smiled. "No, I like flying straight. I just wasn't thinking. Sorry." The girl was just always used to betweening, but being able to fly straight for once sounded like a great idea to her. Azariaith tilted his wings to head back toward the Weyr. Katleya looked over his shoulder. "It is beautiful up here. I think sometimes us riders start to take that for granted," she admitted. She knew she didn't always take the time to stop and think about it.
