It is a very nice view. I don't go out there a lot, because it lonely at night, but there is a big cliff with water running and trees! Mine says it is pretty during the day, but I don't like the sun. Arkysk snorted his distaste.
Arktos set Kiyoni down so that she might mount her green, waiting till she was up on Eliwodth before he came up behind her. It was the first time he had been on a dragon since Bjonrth's death without being drugged. That's how he had left the weyr, in a fellis-laced stupor. When he had returned three Turns later, it had been on Arkysk. He had never ridden a dragon since then, which might seem odd, considering they were everywhere, but he rarely had a need to leave the weyr, and if he did, Arkysk would serve. He thought it would be very painful to be astride a dragon again, but in truth, Eliwodth was nothing like Bjornth, who had been a large and stocky brown. She was almost delicate beneath his hands, bigger than Arkysk, but not even close to his old lifemate. And when he put his arms around Kiyoni's waist, concentrating on that was enough to drive away any lingering hurt.

Oh, it sounds very pretty, Elliwodth said. She snorted softly as she looked at Arkysk. Oh, well, I am sure it is pretty at night too. I will have to look at it at night with you. It sounds fun. The green was in a good mood that day and being polite.
Kiyoni nimbly mounted her green. She was still a bit shook up over her dream, but having Arktos so close to her was helping chase away the last little bit of fear that was lingering. And maybe now that they were together she wouldn't have these nightmares. She looked back at Arktos. "Are you okay back there?" she asked, finally remembering Bjornth. She didn't want him to be uncomfortable. She laid her hand over his and gave it a light squeeze as Elliwodth stood up.

Okay! Let's go! Arkysk was practically dancing with with excitement. He crouched low and spread his small wings, flapping them a few times to loosen up the joints. Then he leaped off the ledge with aid of his powerful hind legs and began a long spiraling glide into the Bowl.
Arktos watched with his heart in his mouth. The wher's wings never looked big enough to support him, but everything seemed to be fine. He gave Kiyoni a squeeze, grateful for the comfort of her hands. "Yes..I'm all right," he said, his voice slightly rough with with emotion. "Lets go." Closing his eyes, he let himself be soothed by the smell of her hair and the feel of night air on his face. This wasn't so bad.

We're coming, Elliwodth assured the black. The green carefully stood up and spread her wings. She waited for Arkysk to go before she followed.
Kiyoni watched Arkysk curiously. She had never seen the wher fly. she had heard he could, but this was still a new experience for her. She gave Arktos a reassuring smile, her face still a bit pale and tear splotched. "It won't take long," she whispered as Elliwodth glided off the ledge. The green followed Arkysk down to his weyr, being extra careful of her passengers.

He decided to keep his eyes closed, this seemed like a good plan. It wasn't that the sensation of flying bothered him particularly. In fact, his gave a familiar lurch of joy at the feeling of wind on his face, of weightlessness as Eliwodth spiraled down. But it was such a strange mix of joy and pain, of loss and bliss, that he knew he would cry, which, he thought, was a terribly unmanly thing to do for a short ride into the Bowl. So closed eyes seemed best. He was glad when they reached the ground and he could see that Arkysk was safe, although of course he could feel the wher, seeing was still believing. He gave Kiyoni a squeeze before dismounting, happy and sad to have his boots firmly on the ground again.
"You show Eliwodth where the ledge is, now." he said to his bondmate once he was sure he could speak steadilly. It was behind the Candidate Barracks and only reachable through the air, or from between.
Arkysk wagged his tale in acquiescence. I will show you how to get there. It is easiest from between. he said, showing her the image of the moonlit ledge on the side of the cliff, with the shadow of the barracks behind. Then he went between from a standing position, an innate skill in whers that could be learned by dragons with enough practice.
Meanwhile, Arktos lead Kiyoni through his office back into the sleeping chamber they had shared only twice so far, making to sure to light a glow on the way in. "Just wait till you see it. Its really spectacular." He pushed aside a large and thick curtain, which revealed a whole new section of the room with a table and chairs and a dragon sized stone couch as well as an arching set of double doors wide and tall enough to admit the largest of dragon if opened, the ceiling sloping up sharply to meet them. He opened the doors and stepped onto the wide ledge, taking Kiyoni by the hand. They were now right on the Weyr Rim, where it dipped down to the level of the Bowl to let the water from the weyr lake spill over the side. The rushing of the waterfall could be heard to the right of the ledge, and the floor of the valley was hundreds of feet below, faintly lit by moonlight. Arkysk appeared beside them with a pleased croon.

Elliwodth made a graceful landing, making sure not to jostle her riders. She could sense the worry in Kiyoni's mind and didn't want to add to her rider's worry even though she wasn't totally sure what the search rider was worried about. Kiyoni had been worried abuot Arktos and she still wasn't sure how this little jaunt was going to affect him. She gave him a smile as he dismounted and soon joined him on the ground. She gave him a quick hug and a kiss.
Elliwodth looked over at Arkysk. I am right behind you, the green said, excited to see what her new ledge would look like. It didn't at all upset her that she would be sharing the ledge with a wher instead of a dragon.
Kiyoni smiled as Elliwodth disappeared behind Arkysk. Of course the green wasn't about to do it standing still, but she didn't have to go too high since she was small and agile.
The search rider turned to follow Arktos. She managed to hide a chuckle as she thought about the couple of times she had been in his weyr. She hadn't seen much of it then. Of course she had been a bit distracted. "I bet it's amazing," she said, feeling much better. The search rider looked around in awe when they stepped inside. It wasn't at all what she had expected. It was much more actually and she turned a smiling face on Arktos. "It's perfect," she whispered as Elliwodth appeared beside Arkysk. Thankfully she wasn't a really big green.

Arkysk scampered bravely to the edge and loked down, crouching low. Do you like it Eliwodth? It is high like your ledge, even though it doesn't look over anything interesting. To Arkysk, scenery was not interesting. People and dragons were.
Arktos put his arm around Kiyoni's shoulder, leaning in to kiss her on the cheek. "I' glad you like it. I hope Eliwodth will be comfortable out here too. Now, would you like to go back to bed my dear? We're keeping you up all night."

Elliwodth looked down over the ledge as Arkysk looked over. I do like it, the green assured the wher. It's pretty here and I like being up high, she admitted. She loved looking around and seeing the beauty in things. Which was probably was she liked everyone she knew to be pretty.
Kiyoni leaned against Arktos. "I don't think you have to worry about Elli. She seems to like it already," she smiled, listening to her dragon's conversation with Arkysk. She was glad Elliwodth liked it. She smiled up at Arktos. "I don't mind being kept up as long as I'm with you," she hinted at. She wasn't ready to go back to sleep. She still feared her dream and she would really much rather spend more time with Arktos. She leaned up and kissed him gently.

Arktos kissed her back, turning to wrap both his arms around her. He raised an eyebrow. "Well, in that case, I can think of *plenty* of ways to keep you up tonight." He brought one of his hands to the nape of her neck while the other slipped to her hip and kissed her, at first gently, but growing quickly more passionate. He brought his thumb to trace the contours of her cheek.
I wonder why it is they like doing that so much. Arkysk said to Eliwodth. Mine seems to really like it but it looks silly.

Kiyoni giggled softly and snuggled against him. At least she knew she didn't need to worry that night. "Oh really?" she asked playfully. "I think I would like to see what you have in mind." The search rider leaned into his kiss, wrapping her arms around his neck and playing with his hair. It felt so right with Arktos. She smiled into his eyes as she shivered slightly at his familiar touch.
Elliwodth looked into the weyr. I do not know, the green admitted as she watched. It does look funny, but Mine likes it to. She gives off some interesting feelings when she's with Yours.

"You would?" Arktos replied, his voice gone slightly husky. "I'd very much like to show you." He began to kiss down her jaw, down to the curve of her neck, pulling her against him with one hand while the other went into her hair. It was amazing to him how quickly she could rouse him and part of him felt like laying her down right on the ledge, but it was rather hard rock, he reminded himself. He nibbled her neck while sliding one hand into her tunic, feeling the smooth skin of her stomach under his fingers.
Yes..strange shivery feelings...nice feelings. Arkysk agreed with Eliwodth, laying down on the ledge with his head on his forearms.

"Very much so," Kiyoni said with a purr to her voice. "Then please, show me." The search rider shivered in pleasure and tilted her head back just a bit. She couldn't believe her awful nightmare had led to such a wonderful outcome. Kiyoni ran her fingers along his back, shivering as his kisses went lower. Shard it! He was the only one that could turn her to mush. And she liked it. She gasped as his hand touched her stomach and purred in pleasure.
The green bobbed her head as Rivi joined them on the ledge. Very nice feelings, she agreed as she curled up on her new ledge.

He grinned at the little noises of pleasure she made. It was rather nice to know he was doing it right. She ran her fingers down her back and he felt his skin shiver under that light touch through the fabric of his tunic. He guided her gently back into the weyr with his hand on her hip, meanwhile nibbling on her ear. Once they were inside, the doors still open to the gentle night breeze and the light of two moons spilling onto the floor, he slid both his hands under the hem of her tunic and ran them lightly up her sides until he had slipped the shirt completely over her head. For just a moment he stood and looked, admiring the way the moonlight shone off her skin and then he pulled her against his body again, bending to kiss the hollow of her throat.

Kiyoni continued to let her fingers explore his broad, muscled back, playing with his hair from time to time. She was enjoying this and liked seeing what Artkos could do to her. Each time he seemed to figure something new out that she really liked. The search rider smiled and let him back her wherever he chose. She giggled softly but tilted her head, liking his lips on her ear. She looked up at him and shivered as his hands brushed her sides. The cool night breeze felt good against her heated skin as she stood in front of Arktos. Kiyoni giggled and wrapped her arms around him again. "Shards," she moaned as he kissed her throat.
