Quindara raised her eyebrows. "A surprise? Well, I suppose I shall have to give it my best effort." She tool a few deep breaths to focus her mind, which was much easier now that G'rett was not pressed up against her. She had been close to the point of abandoning all reason and tackling him to the ground. It was going to be a difficult Turn, she could see.
Finally in a calmer state of mind, she moved into the position he had showed her. It seemed to her a more aggressive starting position than the one she was used to, but it wasn't uncomfortable. She brought to mind the moves he had made with her. Although the closeness of him had been distracting at the time, it had somehow helped to fix the memory in her mind. She went through the cadence, while not perfectly or without any hesitation, she thought it was pretty good. She smiled. "Do I meet your standards, oh master of the staff?" she asked, chuckling slightly over her unintended double entendre.

G'rett caught the double entendre and shook his head, grinning. He had watched Quindara go through the cadence, and although it wasn't the best, he figured it would take a while for her to get it down pat. "Not bad, love. Not bad at all. But, I suppose it's good enough for your surprise." He walked up to her, a few locks of hair clinging to his face from the rain mingled with sweat, his eyes telling that he was still hungry for her. Gently taking the quarterstaff from her hands, G'rett casually tossed it to one side, then slowly wrapped one hand around the small of Quindara's back and the other up through her hair and on the back of her head. Looking into her green eyes and giving her a predatory grin, he drew her closer to him and leaned in, closing his eyes and pressing his lips against hers, not wanting to let go.

She chuckled as he threw the staff to the wayside, but then her mouth was occupied,. She wrapped her arms around his neck, and gave herself to the kiss fully, ignoring the slight alarm bells of warning in her head. Quindara knew what the point of no return was, and this was not it. Plus she might as well get as much kissing now as she could. If she Impressed, there'd be none of this kind of kissing for several months.
She let her teeth lightly graze his lower lip before pulling away, their faces still close. "I like that surprise," she said huskily," but I think I just forgot everything you taught me," she teased.

He took in a deep breath through his nostrils as her arms entwined around his neck, her lips meeting his. He could feel a familiar sensation stirring in his loins, but he knew now wasn't the time as much as he wanted to have his way with her. G'rett wanted to get out of his breeches and to strip away every bit of damp clothing from Quindara's lithe form just to feel her body next to his. He wanted it so badly, it hurt. Perhaps well after she Impressed and her dragon was old enough. Then, he wouldn't mind making love to her in the rain at all.
He grinned at his future weyrmate when her teeth lightly grazed his lower lip, and it grew even wider when she teased him about having forgotten everything. "Then we'll have to practice again when your dragon Rises," he replied, giving her a wink. He turned her around so her back was to him, and he wrapped his arms around her waist, nodding towards the weyrs. "If you Impress to a Gold, after you graduate, which weyr will you be moved into?" He had to admit, he was a bit curious about them living together as weyrmates if Quindara Impressed to a Gold...

She sighed with contentment, leaning against him. "Well, if i Impress Gold, it won't be this time around, unless Aylinth has been sitting on the egg. You can tell the gold egg, plus the mother dragon usually treats it differently." She snorted slightly at the thought of the great Queen brooding on her eggs like a wherry.
"But there are several weyrs for junior Queens, right next to Aylinth's and Demnoth's. They're much like a Wingleader's weyr, I'm told, only a bit bigger to accommodate a larger dragon." They weyr had not had more than two Queens since the beginning of Cloudlung. "I would be happy with a green, and then I wouldn't have to weyr so close to my brother," she said with a laugh.

G'rett rested his head on Quindara's shoulder, every now and then nibbling playfully at her earlobe or her neck. He wasn't sure what to say if Aylinth was indeed sitting on the gold egg, but then again he hadn't been around the dragon's clutch. He wouldn't be allowed to be present until the day of the Hatching, and only then would he know for sure. Still, he listened as Quindara describe the weyrs for junior Queens were slightly larger than a Wingleader's...but she'd be happy with a Green, just so she wouldn't be near her brother. He had to chuckle at that. "You Impress to a Green, after we become weyrmates you're welcome to move in with me. There'll be enough room for both your dragon and Coth. If you become a Queenrider, though...how would we work out the living arrangements between us?"

Every time he kissed her neck she felt a shiver pass through her. She reached back to lay her hand on his cheek. "Well, I guess it wouldn't matter much really. I mean one of us would just move in with the other. Unless I eventually get a higher rank...if I were the Weyrwoman's Second or something, which is doubtful, you'd have to come live with me."
How she longed for that day, when she would be by G'ett's side permanently. It was tie, she thought, that she had some stability in her life. Something constant. Of course, a dragon was as contanst as you could get, but it wasn't the same as a lover. As much as she had enjoyed her wilder years she realized it would be a relief to know exactly who she was going to wake up to every morning, so to speak.
